"Covid-19: Continuation of football in England 'not wise', on 15:00 - Dec 31 by SunningDale | I honestly can't believe that people are still losing their minds over this virus with a survival rate of 99.7%. How many people who keep bleating about protecting the NHS are still smoking, drinking too much, eating a crap diet, getting little to no exercise and generally refusing to take much responsibility for their own health? These will still be costing the NHS billions long after Covid 19 has been forgotten., |
I would agree with that. The pictures in the local rag of the tailbacks queueing for McDonald's were laughable. I've also learnt that it's best just to keep schtum on the subject. If you dare to question the status quo and whether all this hysteria is really necessary, then you're a heartless bastard that doesn't care about other people's lives. Apparently.

"Covid-19: Continuation of football in England 'not wise', on 16:49 - Dec 31 by TVOS1907 | Cheers, but I'm reassured by Williamson saying this morning that there's no reason why schools can't organise their testing programme next week....... Erm, maybe because we aren't medical practitioners, for starters, in addition to some of the things I outlined earlier. If only they had let schools do some planning for this in the last week of term instead of threatening those that wanted to close with legal action. The bloke hasn't got a clue. Just watch him disappear next week. |
I am absolutely dreading the fallout from all this. I predict within two weeks of pupils going back that many schools will be closed. After the first round of testing so many staff and pupils without symptoms will test positive and carnage will ensue with year groups in self isolation and schools without enough staff to teach classes. Then you will get parents having a go at schools as they will have 'done the test wrong'. Also what happens to children whose parents don't want them to get tested? [Post edited 31 Dec 2020 17:59]

I would imagine in reality they will use more decimal places than I have, but Posh & Ipswich apart, it's a good (decimal) point.

Ferguson has been on the phone to Rick Parry asking him to find another 0.2 ppg or he's going to set his dad on him. And call in the tanks. [Post edited 4 Jan 2021 22:32]

but marginally better than the two teams above us. I think they should stat publishing PPG in the league tables as well as total points because I struggle to see the season being completed. Derbyshire police at it again for example fining people complying with all the guidelines/rules but footy continues with close contact of allsorts as mentioned on another thread. It really makes no sense.

Didn't some of the lower leagues (Northern Premier?) vote yesterday to make this season null and void? That is a more likely outcome with so many games still to play
"Covid-19: Continuation of football in England 'not wise', on 21:10 - Jan 9 with 1057 views | James1980 | If the season stops top 2 on ppg go up 3-6 on ppg play offs and no relegation. Extra teams next season. Obviously that would mean an even more congested season with postponements.
