Complacency 22:46 - Sep 16 with 2611 views | Gennaro_Contaldo | Apparently a few of the squad came back from the mini break unfit. That is not acceptable and shows how complacent they were after the VERY strong end of season finish. Looks like they need another head wobble, but why on earth the club only played 1 pre-season friendly is baffling. [Post edited 19 Sep 2020 22:46]

I think Ralph is generally a good manager or has the potential to be, but I found his excuses this week somewhat lamentable. He is the manager and he was down to him to have ensured that complacency did not set in and that they were ready for the new season. I am not sure that not playing friendlies is that key. We have not had a good start to a season for heaven knows how long now and in the previous years we have had plenty of friendlies. Also, it was not that many weeks ago we were playing full games. I do suspect that the good run before the end of the last season made them think they did not need to focus on getting ready for this but there is something about the clubs approach to new seasons. On and off the pitch we rarely seem to be ready, add into the mix our poor record and effort in the transfer market. Hopefully we see an improvement tomorrow but I am expecting a third defeat in little over a week.

I'm hopeful we'll see some of the post-lockdown Saints back. Maybe I'm deluded, but Spurs look in disarray not a team. One might suggest they've already become a typical Mourinho 'team' that falls out and squabbles ...

Just sending a comment back Les. By the way, as I've said before it's the wonderful dead ball specialist who's the skate. Did you forget TCM?
