Our squad was looking very thin after the restart, so I think finding some players with potential is good, even if the name isn't recognizable.
Have to hope for a few more players with Championship pedigrees, but a good start to add to the squad five days after the season ended. |  | | |

Also shrugged at first but this looks a promising signing. Textbook example of a player getting snapped up too quick and being lost in the system.
People predictably mentioning Amos in horror straight away but I don't really feel like this is one of those where we'll be patiently coaxing an indifferent lamb into a Champo lion... U23 captain there and tore it up at that level last season by the looks of it, beefy slab of lad, looks and talks like a 30 year old. Getting maybe a bit of Waghorn/Mackie vibe about him, but a better striker of the ball - I could be wrong.
Talented, suits our play (ie no Scunthorpe 4-4-2) and our immediate needs post-Bright, just needs games - if he can hack it at this level it's set up for him to be an important player and valuable asset for us very quickly. Could it all be as simple as good players just lying around in club's reserves waiting for us to come along? |  | | |

From the highlights reel, we can see he knows at least how to stay onside.
This is already plus point. looks like a John Swift type of player and Reading are about to sell him for £3.5m or maybe more.
I think this is the type of signing we must expect this coming season. Let's hope we get K.Moore in as well. |  |

Agree with Rsonist on this. Don’t understand the negativity.
It’s nothing like an Amos signing.
- it’s permanent not a loan
- this lad grew up and began his career with league one league two sides at a very young age, not in a Prem academy, playing 80 odd times.
- he got snapped up by the Premier league holders but didn’t quite make it and became available on a free, so the hunger is there. He’s not coasting; this has to work for him.
- no fee
- likely a manageable salary
- replacement for Eze/BOS, before we’ve lost them which is the moneyball tactic if sign the replacement to strengthen your leverage in the sale negotiation
- 3 year contract plus 1 yr option for us, means he can afford to have two great seasons and we still hold all the leverage if we decide to cash in.

Not sure why there is any negativity around the signing? Obviously he could be a flop, but so can most signings. Given the current economic climate we are on.

- Free, and assuming on sensible wages.
- Has played plenty of football, albeit not at this level.
- Versatile - seemingly can play on both flanks and in the 10 role.
- Contract allows time for him to get settled and have resale value should he work out.
- Low Risk/High Reward
- Can find the back of the net, but not prolific.
