EZE to West Ham? 14:58 - Jan 3 with 9995 views | NorthantsHoop | Yet more paper talk about £20m transfer of Eze, this time to West Ham. To be honest if we got £20m from the Hammers that would be acceptable. For Eze it would be a good move for him and probably a better way to start his playing career in the Premier League. More likely to develop and actually be given a good opportunity to show his skills there. Also if it works out well for him a gateway to a bigger club in the future. Interesting to see if this rumour is a runner and whether Hugill will feature as a makeweight in any deal.

EZE to West Ham? on 20:04 - Jan 4 with 2390 views | GloryHunter | I am astonished that Hugill gets paid £45k a week. And that West Ham paid Preston £10million for him. He mostly seems to stand around with his hands on his hips, before backing off into the wrong position. By comparison, Eze must be worth at least £30mill.

If that’s in January try to get him loaned back for the rest of the season so we can enjoy him just a little while longer and definitely a sell on clause. I’ll be gutted when he goes but understand that’s got to be our way.

I agree with you 100% but we are only paying a portion of that*. I don't how much, that is *Whatever it is, it's too much. Not an attack on Hugill but on the money in average footballers

There was always a rumour Alex Ferguson was going to bid £10m for Magic Hat before he did his cruciate... and we seem to be cursed by that particular injury - Ale Faurlin doing his 3 times (a pointless cup game against MK Dongs being one if I'm not wrong), Carlisle and Langley in the same game against Fulham (what odds?), Jermaine Jenas 4 minutes into his debut (ok, scratch that one, he got injured looking at a ball)...

no way are Burnley paying wells or anyone 40k a week

I'd be surprised if Wells is on the big dollar coming from Huddersfield but Brighton, Southampton, Bournemouth and Sheffield aren't shelling out millions for lads on £10k a week.

Not if your wife is a West Ham season ticket holder! Our relationship was 6 months old when the Sinclair, Rowlands, Dowie debacle happened and I’ve never forgiven them. Talk about kicking a wounded animal. I have hated that club ever since. If I have her, and her brother (unbeknown and innocently to be fair) rubbing it in by telling me how great their new purchase is, I think I may actually lose it and fall out with the lot of them. And as for that smug little porn prince of a son, junior Sullivan...imagine that little (add as appropriate) cheering an eze goal. They’re not a good club, they have sold their home and wasted the money almost as badly as we did a few years back. It’s coming home to roost for the dildo twins (Long live Simon Jordan) and I won’t have a positive word to say about West Ham until they’re club is on its knees and suffering as we have. Eze is dead to me if he goes there
EZE to West Ham? on 12:39 - Jan 5 with 1867 views | MancR | What did United pay for James from Swansea last year? Think it was around £25 mil. Eze has so much more to his game already, never mind potential, than the very quick James.

It wasn't £10m. He broke the British transfer record when he signed Andy Cole in January 1995 for £7m. Think it was more like £2m/£2.5m

Spurs also paid circa £25m for Ryan Sessegnon 18 months ago. Young British talent attracts a premium. £20m has got to be a starting bid at the very least and anyone who bids any less than that should be told to fůck right off.

jesus christ. So he should fk off because you're angry he's being paid too much (if, indeed, he is being paid that much, which we have bsolutely no way of verifying). What was he supposed to do? Tell West Ham he didn't think he was worth that and suggest they pay him £10k? Come here and I'll gladly give you a slap. Be angry at clubs, at football etc - but it's not fkn Hugill's fault is it?! He should take the money and when his contract runs out he'll know he'll have to take a drop, but you can't blame him for trying to set himself and his family up for years to come.

They don't, they just believe a random number someone made up and posted on the internet. We've tested it here ourselves in the past; post something gratuitously untrue and wait for the rumour to come back around as a 100% nailed on fact.

Same way it's always been. You never know the exact details but a rough idea emerges through the news - just because we weren't privy to contracts during the Hughes era doesn't mean we don't know they were being paid a ton. I get the argument we shouldn't beat the players/club with a stick of hearsay but it's disingenuous to claim it's completely beyond the scope of discussion. IIRC someone at Boro disclosed the amount they were paying Hugill proportionate to his West Ham contract.

I'd be fairly shocked if Wood and Rodriguez weren't - at least. It's 2020, agents know how much money clubs are rolling in.

Alright mate.. chill out. I was being slightly tongue in cheek and overly dramatic for effect. I dont blame Hugill. Where did i say that? My point being that agents and the football industry deem the alleged £45k p/w acceptable for a player of Hugill's standard(championship). Having said that if he continues banging goals in like he is today i might change my mind..lol

Staff salaries are in the clubs' published accounts. Forensic analysis can give a good idea of how much the top earners - or even individuals - are getting as a proportion of the whole pot. Sometimes players have told friends or interviewers. And sometimes they have even left their payslips lying around to be photographed (eg C Tevez).
