Match Thread: Burton away on 16:17 - Dec 21 by RAFC_1990 | Pyke is absolutely awful, just missed a sitter and is so ineffective and he cant be arsed. Ive had enough of him now. Rather watch a youth product who actually tries. Done might as well not be on the pitch, puts the effort in but isn't anywhere near L1 standard. [Post edited 21 Dec 2019 16:18]

Prophetic! Baah on for Pyke. The youngster put himself about at Rotherham so let's hope he does the same here.

I agree totally I'd rather see a youngster thrown in the attack than Pyke, let him come on as sub and use his 90 mins worth of ineffectiveness up in 20 mins at the end of a game.

The sad thing is that Pyke is only 22, can still be classed as a youngster but without any of the positive vibes

Got to have proper forwards on the pitch to convert chances. The board have got a lot to answer for regarding our situation, as well as the person who again said Rathbone was fit to start

He's got FIVE strikers on the bench - Wilbraham, Andrew, Gillam, Tavares and Baah. He doesn't play them because he believes in defensive sideways football. Surely we all know that by now.

Someone needs to ask Bbm why rathbone keeps getting started when clearly not fit, it’s not fair on the player

Players can pass fitness tests and then break down again during the game, it's not uncommon in football.

He doesn’t play them because of the 5 of them, one is good enough as a squad player, the next two are terrible and just making up places on the bench, and the next two are young prospects who aren’t ready yet. Sounds like we were better in the second half but still, against a side who’ve only scored 4 home goals after half a season, that’s a terrible result. Board, you know what you need to do.

I would rather see any of those 5 start ahead of Pyke, surely he's had his chance now?

Match Thread: Burton away on 14:16 - Dec 21 by 442Dale | Pyke is approaching last chance saloon. All on him now. |
If he was our player then he could be worth persevering with, but was his loan a season long one that can be ended early? From those there today, his miss was likened to one by Paul Williams at York in the League Cup in 1995.

Match Thread: Burton away on 17:07 - Dec 21 with 2704 views | borntogo | I agree none of them are world-beaters, to say the least, but picking them at least shows an intention to attack rather than contain, hold, and get a sneaky 1-0, at best. He'd rather fill his team with holding midfielders. So, sadly, what happened today and most other Saturdays this season is set to continue.

| My all time favourite Dale player Mr Lyndon Symmonds |

Have to admit that went through my mind when I saw the team sheet. I think the lad is an outstanding talent, there are few sweeter strikers of a football at this level and his ability to pick out passes is a joy to watch. Still learning but well worth a place in the side if fit......
Match Thread: Burton away on 19:18 - Dec 21 with 2094 views | Shun | Good to read from BBM’s post-match interview that Henderson and Morley only have slight injuries and should be in consideration for Thursday. It’s also worth noting again what a pleasant aspect these injury updates are of BBM’s management style, as opposed to Hill who would leave us in the dark about every single injury, leading to exactly the kind of speculation discussed above.

Yes, great news that Hendo's was just a dead leg and nothing too serious. Hopefully Morley just missing as a precaution - we need some fit players!

Not 100% sure, but wasn't it Pyke who put the ball through for the Camps goal? But, yes, other than that he was ineffective, and very frustrating!

Just back ( via the pub). Odd game. Scored after 1 minute and then got completely battered for 43 minutes and probably lucky to be only 2-1 down. Then in the last minute of the first half put together a great move that should have led to a goal 2nd half we were a completely different team. Hit the post, Hit the bar and Pyke should have scored from a perfect cross from RND. They didn't deserve to score but that is the way it goes sometimes, with Sanchez almost saving it. We may have found a real gold nugget in Baah. Gets involved, full of confidence and no little skill. Hopefully will progress in the next couple of seasons, but worth quite a few minutes at the moment as we are short of bodies.
Match Thread: Burton away on 23:22 - Dec 21 with 1632 views | boromat | Just from the iFollow commentary it sounded like we had a good game away at a decent team. First half we got ahead but then fell away but second half it sounded like we really threatened which we can't say we have done recently. I'll stay positive and say it's an improvement on recent performances regardless of missing Hendo and Morley. Looking forward now to getting them back now and pushing on further in the next game.
