Still early days 20:38 - Oct 6 with 2631 views | dickythorpe | A reality check today. Couldn't care less about where ipswich were this morning in the league table. This league is unpredictable. Can't believe some on here were saying "it's a poor league" We all have to manage our expectations. [Post edited 6 Oct 2018 20:39]

What happened today is not unexpected by most, we all knew the issues that could arise and could even get even more deep rooted without a bit more experience. Hopefully VDH, Fer and Bony can stay injury free and Mulder is cemented as no1 for the rest of the season. As for Chris cocck and the virgin E20, they are quiet tonight eating a big bowl of humble pie.....they will get up to speed eventually.

Taking his time and chilling like I have today. We all want to see this team pull up trees and achieve. However it will take results like today to make the team and fans realise we can't just expect 3 points" 'cos the league table shows our opponents are way below us" The highlights for a neutral look good, but we can see "strengths, weaknesses and must improve upon"
Still early days on 21:33 - Oct 6 with 2426 views | KrisP | A reality check for who? The positive section of our fanbase? Sure, if you only look at the scoreline. I'd say it's more of a reality check for the doom merchants who were adamant we were going straight down again. We were by far the better side, should have scored a couple more and ultimately lost because we inexplicably played our second string keeper. If this is what a reality check looks like we'll be fine.

Which is why most people who watched the game are not despondent.

Still early days on 22:36 - Oct 6 with 2279 views | jack2jack | It is still early days, and we are a work in progress, as you say lots of positives, going forward. Potter has come into a new league, so he's still learning Our young guns are doing a terrific job and will only get better, if nothing else today it will be a lesson learnt, nothing wrong with that. Although I was disappointed with the result today, I really enjoyed . And yes if we finish anywhere in the top half, I think that will be a job well done, and the foundations for us to kick on from that, next season.
Still early days on 22:58 - Oct 6 with 2249 views | EU5Makaveli | I’ve got to be honest, I think Ipswich were the worst team I’ve seen down here in a few years. After 1-0 we seemed to become complacent and that was our undoing. We carved them open numerous times today and on another day would’ve scored 5/6. It’s an unpredictable league, but we’ll beat far better teams than Ipswich if we play like that all year. I agree with the expectations however, more experienced, battle hardened squads will finish above us- I predict us to be 8th- 10th playing some good stuff along the way. Still early days on 02:01 - Oct 7 with 2110 views | Glyn1 | The results were crazy yesterday. The three bottom teams at the start of the day all won, and Middlesbrough, Norwich, and us lost, and even Leeds could only scrape a draw at home. This is probably NOT a division to make large bets in. [Post edited 7 Oct 2018 2:02]

Still early days on 20:46 - Oct 7 with 1790 views | ymaohyd | Couldn't disagree more with most of the comments. Yes, manage expectations. But it's a very average league. We were up against a very poor team, whom many of their own fans are saying are one of the worst Ipswich sides in memory. We were at home, a goal up yet managed to lose, unacceptable in my opinion. Completely acceptable to lose any game. Example would be Bristol City, every single season you can concede early and end up chasing the game. Yesterday though!

Agreed. I haven't posted on the game yet so here goes..................... Where do you start? We can all say this is a young side learning but yesterday was a tactical blunder more than anything. Playing a side that hadn't won in 11 games this season. So why start with 5 at the back? A standard back four with Kyle Naughton playing in front would have been far more suitable, and our lack of a DM made us extremely vulnerable. Ipswich in fairness spotted this and exploited the space more and more as the game went on. Considering we were playing a side low on confidence and with the slowest back 4 I've seen this season why not start with Mackay AND James on the wings? The fall guy in this instance would have been George Byers whom I don't consider to have had his most effective game. Mackay looked lively when he came on and shortly afterwards Celina (who hiself wasn't at his best) scored to break his duck. Potter also got his subs wrong. Firstly Mike Van Der Hoorn was well under par and should have been hooked at HT. Both of Ipswich's first two gpals were directly attibutable to him.Languid and casual the first cross to Gwion should never had got to him , the second an OG. CCV should have come on for him. It may sound harsh but he really didn't deserve to play after half time. Not replacing him with a CCV (a specialist centre half) later on was asking for trouble but with the introduction of Asoro he had already tied his own hands. Secondly - Asoro coming on before Mackay is wrong on all levels. He simply has nothing for an end product and looks like a younger and less effective Dyer . He didn't do terribly but when Mackay came on the difference was stark. I'd much rather Routledge on the bench than Asoro as Routs has much more to offer even in his thirties. He played well at Wigan and I was surprised to see him out of the squad altogether (I hadn't heard he was injured). Waste of a sub. It's a game where we should have been out of sight before Ipswich scored. I can only assume Courtney Baker Richardson was injured for him not to figure in the squad . Had he been fit we would have punished Ipswich and the excellent Dan James would have got 2-3 assists. McBurnie, who had a day to forget in front of goal would have had some much needed support up front. I'm not singling him out, far from it. He ran himelf into the ground which may explain why he failed to get on the end of the excellent late ball acros the 6 yard area that Dan James sent in. As for the other two he missed, a lack of awareness or just pace? I'm undecided. This sounds quite damning but I'm 100% behind GP as he has done wonders at the club, it's just one of those days where he hamstrung himself with his initial selection and then compounded it with his subs. I'm sure he'll reflect on that and not make the same mistake twice. We'll come back better than this but the sad fact here is that in a week when we our passing play deserved 6 points we ended up with one.

I have a feeling that a section of the fan base are going to turn on Potter if we aren’t in contention come the end of the season. I’ll bump this.
