Michelle Owen just said she can't believe how one sided this game has been. That's worrying in its own way. We have to convert chances, something we've been poor at this season so far it seems.

The Official Swansea City Vs Ipswich Town Championship Match Day Thread on 17:02 - Oct 6 with 2491 views | icecoldjack | We lacked quality when it really mattered, potter couldn't do much more and Dan James was quite frankly a class above, he should be walking 9ff the field with 3 assists and a win. We lacked a bit of composure when Naughton went off, so.etimes it needs some old heads to keep things cool, I enjoyed the game but the harsh truth remains, we are short of quality when it matters, if we signed that we'd be top of the league and running away with it. Not scoring enough goals will be our downfall but I lobe the way we are playing, bitter sweet today.

Bollox, all the years i've followed the Swans that is one of the most unacceptable results i have witnessed. Don't get me wring, we've played far worse as we have all witnessed, but to be 1-0 up at home against a team who have't won, lacking in confidence and for a better word, crap, to lose is completely un fu cking acceptable. I'd never make a manager because i would have gone fuc king balistic. I though we"d be midtable and wpuld have accepted 8t? but started to believe. Not a cat in hells chance will we do anything. Nice and safe but nowhere near enough attacking diversity to change and turn games around. Certainly not without Jeff!

Radio Wales is quite frankly abysmal. No coverage of the game last Tuesday except (on DAB/FM within the Swansea and West Wales area) despite having DAB, FM, MW and BBC Wales online platform to potentially broadcast on. We're not subject to PL broadcasting rights anymore so for us Swans fans outside of the Swansea area, listening in shouldn't be that difficult, but it is.

Your last paragraph sums up where me and you differ on this particular game. I’m not expecting us to be anywhere near play offs/promotion. Potter isn’t a miracle worker, there’s been a massive overhaul and his job is to stop the slide, at the moment he’s doing that. Games like this will happen throughout the season. For every few brilliant performances, we’ll have a bad one, or freak one as we have seen today, sounds like we played well but fell asleep and wasn’t ruthless enough.
The Official Swansea City Vs Ipswich Town Championship Match Day Thread on 17:44 - Oct 6 with 2037 views | Dr_Winston | Far too passive. Far too keen to wait for things to happen rather than make them happen. If the rest if the team had shown the same desire to open Ipswich up as quickly as Daniel James did then we'd have won it easily. We still have the bad habit of dallying on the ball a bit too much, whether it's not playing the early pass or taking a couple of extra touches. That's the area Potter needs to be working on with them.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

No, i don't expect us to do anything either. I've been so impressed with Potter that i started to believe. Walking away from the game i have never been so annoyed and disappointed. I don't play sport to lose and don't watch to lose, but sometimes it is what it is especially in the Prem. But that today was quite simply unacceptable. We won't do anything this season when we can't win games like that and those players won't achieve anything as a group to lose a game like that...it just can't happen. Completely and utterly unacceptable. He needs to get them in tomorrow and have a serious discussion. That wasn't Leeds, Stoke etc etc that was against a team who haven't won, a goal down, away from home. If as you suggest we just shrug our shoulders after that then as a club we really have fuc king lost it. Players should never be affraid to play but they should be made rudely aware that Swansea City at home shouldn't ever lose games like that.

Ipswich were not as poor as I expected, especially in the second half. Our levels of experience were partly responsible for our own downfall today.

They played really well though, once they settled. Kept their shape, worked hard, hit us on the break and were clinical. Ignore the table, that’s one of the better performances against us this season. We could still be playing Forest and they wouldn’t have scored against us. We’ve only ourselves to blame - we had them, but failed to convert chances (again).
The Official Swansea City Vs Ipswich Town Championship Match Day Thread on 17:56 - Oct 6 with 1946 views | AnotherJohn | Puzzling team selection/substitutions today and a deeply frustrating game. It may be that with the number of games to play in the Championship Potter feels the need to rotate, but our lack of depth is there for all to see. Bad day at the office or reality check? We'll know by Christmas. The only bright spots for me were an exceptional goal by Celina and some nice breaks by Dan James. At least Celina's goal showed that we are not entirely dependent on deflections and own goals to score, though it felt like that for much of the match. It was only when checking the internet on my return home that I saw the ex-player curse struck again when Gwion Edwards scored.
