Travelling on the tube must be unbearable. As Smegma said, it’s practically 40c on the Central Line.
If it’s any consolation, our driving cabs on the Piccadilly Line gets so cold with the air conditioning on, that I sometimes have to switch it off for a few minutes.
Mind you, if I encounter one that isn’t working properly, the train will be straight out of service.
The new Thameslink Siemens trains are quite cold.

Whilst we haven't had as many 30 degree C plus days in the UK as in 1976 yet, the hot spell is much more widespread globally this time.

My job is fairly physical, delivering online groceries throughout the city ( did 10 Downing st on Monday) can’t believe the amount of offices in the square mile who order crates of alcohol for their staff, the only consolation I have is that 1/3 of the back of my van is a fridge which not only keeps my lunch cold as well as several water bottles I get to stand in it for a few minutes sitting out orders. I do love people who live on the 4th floor of a liftless building ordering 50 odd litres of bottled water!!

Went to Las Vegas and the Hoover Dam in July a couple of years ago. It was 40°C in Vegas and 50°C at the Hoover Dam. Since then I don't mind the heat here as much but thank God for air conditioning all the same.
The shops sold factor 100 sun cream. I thought that was a bandage.

It's a much dryer kind of heat though there, somehow it feels a lot more comfortable than here. The worst place I can remember being for heat and humidity was Cairns on the East coast of Australia near the rainforest. Was there in November time and it was like suffocating. As soon as you walked out of a the shower you were sweating. Didn't help that I was getting drunk most nights on the backpacker trail but only then did it seem bearable.

Weird. Watched the 6 o'clock news weather on BBC and they said 38 in town. Just saw on the same channel a forecast of 26. No explanation as to what's happened to the missing 12 degrees in the intervening 4 hours. Maybe the bloke who puts the sticky numbers on the map picked up a three instead of a 2.
It's being so happy that keeps me going.

What a time to go on the wagon. Haven't had a drop since World Cup Final Sunday. Aiming to stay dry until first home game. Day 12 so far. Which makes the John Mills Ice Cold in Alex gif mesmering cruel and pornographic. Feeling good though. Highly recommended

Worked in a factory sweat box of 32°c in winter and 37/39°c in the summer for 10 years with no air flow or air con. No open windows either. And bosses that would tell you off for going to get drinks and taking heat breaks while they sat in their nice air con offices.

I bet all that ocean acidification is making your keelhauling more spicy and that's before we mention the migration northwards of the great white shark. Be careful out there.
Back on dry land, Mrs R from Afar turned on the cold tap to try to cool her overheating feet and swears blind that it dispensed warm water.
On a more serious note, credit rating agencies like Moody's have now starting considering organisations' preparedness for climate change as part of their assessments.

Our CEO just donated several tins of pop to every fridge on every floor in our building. You should have seen it in the kitchen areas, it was like the masses had never seen a can of Coke before.
To be fair though, as anyone working for a LGA would know, usually we get absolutely nothing for Gratis.
