Quite possibly not.
The trust holds 21.1%.
The consortium holds 68% split over 25 sub share holders.
The consortium is held together by Levein and Kaplan.
However, a consortium member does not have to remain in support of its key shareholers and can use their shareholding to back a different controlling stake in the club if they feel that is a better management of their investment.
Current management of the club is looking like losing their entire investment, possibly they would seek a better leadership of the investment than Levein and Kaplan are currently displaying.
The idea that they are or can asset strip has been discussed at length on here previously and the result is always that it is not legally possible as they can't take the money from the club except via dividends or sale of shares.
Relegation means almost entire loss of investment.
I probably am missing something though

Look, these 'investors' invest in lot's of things. Some pay off, some don't. They do not have a personal interest in any of them, even to the point that some do not even know what they've invested in! It's all managed for them. Some you win, some you lose. Do you honestly think for 1 minute that the pretty girl from the BBC website (can't be bothered to bring up her name) even realises she is a Swansea City shareholder? I'll bet you a penny to a bucket of shit she's never heard of us! But the people who manage her finances have, and taken a little punt.

Wouldn't have been the first time shares were sold undervalue (Nurse), or people were given plenty of time to find the money...

You can sell your shares for what you want Darran. They'd have made less of course. Possibly a lot less. But they could have also held on and worked with the Trust to find someone that valued being different and working with fans.

Thank you Lisa that’s now made me more angry.

They would never have done that, they're all about self interest that much is becoming clearer by each passing day.

Yep and they would have delayed the sale and lost money as the Trust struggled to raise funds.
The Trust scuppered the previous deal which ironically now looks better than the current one.
Hence the Trust were left out of the loop and the sale rushed though. They have since been scratching around trying to negate the SHA in operation at the time by any means possible.
Shameful behaviour by those who claimed to have had the interests of their club at heart.

It's why I asked our newly co-opted Trust Board member Andrew McGlashan on a previous thread whether he had ever crossed paths with Oaktree Capital in his professional dealings with US Equity firms. Just to put my mind at rest I'd be grateful if he could confirm that he hasn't.

Yes, I completely agree. I wasn't anticipating that she in particular was about to come forward and push to run the club.
However, any or all of them maybe looking for a way to get some return on investment. And right now they are staring at losing the whole lot.
For the sake of someone from the trust doing all the work, running the club etc and they have to change their voting to back the trust over Levein they may see some return.

I’m not being a clever twát here Lis but how could they have sold a few percent to the Trust if the Trust didn’t have the money to buy?

As Lisa has said the are many ways they could have done this and secured a long-term legacy for Swansea supporters. It is so disappointing and disgusting that I hardly have words.

most of them are either affiliated to kaplan or Levien by business relationships or birth. And the others I suspect have investments through their other investment vehicles.

So I very much doubt the Trust approaching any of these people would make a difference.

Maybe Mindy may not like the publicity if here twitter account started getting loads of negative Swansea posts though!

The Mattew Walsh mentioned is an ex basketball player not a comedian.

He's linked with the close that Tummer mentioned earlier. His name came up before somewhere.

I still cant believe people think that by getting relegated that these people wont make money....they will.

The parachute payments and the inevitable sale of players in the summer when relegated, with little to no money put in for signings will be the start of things......they bought the club far too cheap.

Their profit will be made when they sell the club on, all they will need is what they paid for it and their bank accounts will be far healthier.

They won't be making a profit is they sell the club on in the Championship. They'd be lucky to get half their money back.

Selling players may boost the coffers, but we haven't got many who are worth anything.

They obviously want to make money, but it's not that easy in the Championship. Most clubs there are run at a loss. Take Cardiff - they posted their first profit under Tan the first season back in the Championship, a whopping £3.8m. last year they posted a £9m loss, even with parachute payments.

The excellent Swiss Ramble blog has talked about the state of the Championship finances earlier this year. Here are the profit & losses over the previous 2 years.

In short, we HAVE to stay in the PL for the American consortium to stand any chance of making a reasonable return on their punt.

I wonder if all these people with shares in SCFC invested on the back of watching JTAK.

Can you imagine them getting friends around for a movie night showing them their latest big money spinner.
