So Corbyn and his cronies talked to the IRA did they .....
..... well I for one haven't seen too many bombs going off in London lately.
Where did I mention the IRA ???????????
And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles
Brian Moore
He has "sat down for tea" with the IRA, or at least it's political wing.
He hasn't, as far as I'm aware sat down with ISIS or are you claiming he has?
oh im being silly, sorry professor cliff , I do apologise
no my point was to john Charles if you bothered to read the reply that is imo corbyn isn't the man to get tough with Islamic terrorists, he has said previously he isn't a fan of stop & search , he doesn't get on with M15 (maybe its to do with the dossier on him due to his links with his republican friends) and he would be in favour of reducing our army and weapons , my point about the "tea" was that's his approach to dealing with the problem at hand but you feel free to turn into whatever context you want

I didn't say you were being silly, I said let's not GET silly and argue over semantics.
The terrorists we are in urgent need of defeating are in the UK, and as such the size of our army isn't the most important factor. maybe the 20,000 police that May has got rid of might be a factor however?
I don't feel I've turned your comment about tea into any a different context, it remains the case that in my, and it would appear Corbyn's, opinion that as well as tackling the already radicalised terrorists we have to deal with the underlying issues, which is probably best done through the medium of "tea"
I'm an ordinary person. I dont want to get stabbed or blown up. I want the government to do their job and protect me. Theresa May has had seven years in the job and the stabbings and bomb attacks are getting worse. I am scared for the future.

Like many of us, have been affected quite profoundly by the events of the last few days.
I teach in an international college located just a few hundred metres from Borough Market and know the area so well that this feels like an attack on my very own neighborhood. Had friends/colleagues who were among the first on the scene at London Bridge, sounds foolish but these are sound, decent blokes doing instinctively what they thought was the right thing to do.
We finally got access to the college today and found numerous rooms with doors/locks smashed open. No issue personally with this, just police doing what they needed to do to secure the local area.
Really don't have much to say on this topic except to say that there is a very palpable sense of people being defiant and giving a lot more of a shit about each other and acknowledging that most of us are on the same f'ing side. Shouldn't need saying but actually when pushed us humans actually show one or two redeeming qualities.
There probably are political points to score - and to me May's staggering level of incompetence has been laid bare yet again - but there are issues that go beyond party political lines, and the idea that you can combat terrorism by increasing prison sentences rather than putting adequate numbers of police on the street shows for me how out of touch certain parties are.
Anyway, hope you all go out and make your voice heard tomorrow.
Breaking news: looks like the Spanish hero who defended a woman who was being stabbed was accidentally shot by the police who thought he was a terrorist. Apparently the news is being withheld until after the election.
Only available in Spanish at the moment, so probably not much use to folks on here, although roughly the video says that the narrator spoke with some reporters who say it is almost definite the Spaniard was shot by the police because he was down on the ground and they thought he was one of the jihadists. That obviously it's not 100% but nearly sure. That it is not being made public until after the election because it would damage Teresa May. That similar hidden things happen in Spain but that now we see it here in the UK as well and that it is a "mafioso situation".
If this is true then that's terrible that he was mistakenly killed. But the only people I blame are the lower than parasitic pondlife scum that carried out the attack on Saturday evening.
There were reports of someone being shot in the head and being treated in hospital There were also early reports of there being 4 attackers so I guess it could be true.
No blame can be put on the police he is a victim and just tragic if true .

Really think an accidental police shooting would stop anyone voting! My gawd, the recent media coverage and polls are bs, people made up their mind months ago.

Absolutely not so Bozza. I have personally met people in last few days who have changed their minds and are voting Labour, some for the first time. If you don't think the Tories are ultra-sensitive to news like this, think again.

Apart from a some people I've spoken to today that said they still had not made their mind up

There were early reports of an accidental shooting by Police...then it all went quiet.
I guess now we know why. Again, the ultimate blame lies with the terrorists, but I'm sure the Police Complaints Commission will look it it, at least.

Well, we'll soon find out, but If an accidently shooting by a police officer changes your political inclinations for this election, than those people you have met are rather lightweight, don't ya think?

People are voting labour because in all the confusion the police tragically shot an innocence person. Beggars belief

Most people are rather lightweight politically IMO Boz.

Yes, reported as missing, but not that he'd been accidentally shot by the police. Apparently he wasn't actually missing, they just didn't want the news to get out - according to Spanish sources.

If he was Dad, brother or child ? What the Fff kind of society are we living when this becomes acceptable ?

Eh? I don't think anyone said it was acceptable. If true, it's a police incident and not political and nor should it or would it impact the way you vote. Given the situation the police were facing that night, I don't think anyone has the right to criticize them especially as we know next to nothing about what happened.

" if true, it's a police incident and not political and nor should it impact on the way we vote" Now that sounds like we should accept it.
