Great site here for tracking projections and polling for the Presidential, House and Senate elections over the next month. A wealth of info on each state in each race.

http://www.electionprojection.com/latest-polls/house-polls.php

Hopefully the warmongering Clinton wins it over the dangerously doolally Trump, and hopefully the Democrats can get the Senate back.

Poll: Player of the Year (so far)

I can't see the Americans setting a nuclear precedent anywhere - and how would it work? It's hard to identify your target at all, let alone remove it from the local population. He'll be pretty poor and rudderless looking after a year or so, unless he's getting some help, and the people who know what they are doing won't want to go nuclear or desert NATO as it's not in the USA's commercial interests. Eastern Europe - you really think that Russia has the stomach for that? The boyos in charge are doing too nicely to be much bothered about proper wars aren't they?

I reall y hope you're right El. The worry from my side is this isn't the norm - the Libertarian fringes of the Republican party have just stormed the lot. I fear American policy is going to take a veering direction away from where it has been

America has voted in the man most likely to start a nuclear war as president.
Whoopie we're gonna die.

as opposed to electing a woman, married to a man who during his presidency oversaw
Mogadihsu in Somalia, Bosnia, Afghanistan, the Sudan, Yugoslavia and Op Desert Fox in Iraq. Naturally he was the 'good guy' in all of the above.

Trump won because the majority of americans don't want the same old sh1t.

Poll: Remy - can he play in the playoffs - who's opening post is the best?

But, realistically, can he just do what he wants? Won't they just tell him to feck off if he decides to do something stupid?

The EU thing hasn't gone away because as soon as we're "out", unless people's standard of living improves dramatically there will be a growing call to rejoin. And you will get a political party making this a core policy, thereby putting right back on the political agenda.

I don't see how anyone would want Clinton or Trump either, but usually when people don't want either candidate they simply don't bother to vote. However in this case the turnout has been huge.

Turnout hasn't been huge at all. Lowest since 2000, and 18 million less than 4 years ago.

Edit: Just seen another figure that it's 6 million fewer votes cast than in 2012. Either way, it's definitely down.

It's hilarious on the TV and radio today.

Same old faces talking to usual suspects, left politicians, celebrities, liberals and all still stuck in their rich fckin bubble, essentially hating the public. What an utter bunch of cnts.

As a rule of thumb, if a celebrity is on your side, you're on the wrong side.

I actually feel quite sorry for you. So much anger, so much rage. Going from thread to thread venting like this. In all seriousness I think you need to talk to someone about it.

Trump won because the "rust belt". This is middle America, full of blue collar, hard working men/women who have been left behind by the liberals. Manufacturing jobs have been lost, the economies have been crushed, and no one seemed to care. PA, Ohio, Mich, Wisconson, Indiana, etc. The last time this grouping went for a Republican was Reagan in the 1980's.

You were right, but how sad is it that the sneering cosmopolitan left have made democracy a concealed shameful experience for so many.

You mustn't take this too personally. Because someone sneers at you, you vote in a guy that is so weird that he might actually start a nuclear war. Bit over top ? Sticks and stones and all that.
There's a lot of babies being thrown out with the bath water these days.

He doesn't just say anything, he says everything. He throws so much $hit at the wall it's almost impossible to actually know what he thinks or what he'll do. Combine that with his speech pattern which is so vacuous and random it makes it even more difficult to actually ascertain what he's saying. It's a tremendous speech pattern. What's so good about it? It's fantastic, unbelievably fantastic. Blows Hilary out of the water. People say to me why are you so much better than her Donald? My charisma, my speech. It's really great.

I am in NY at the moment and I actually did not think he would win. NY is like a doomsday City today and people are really shocked by the outcome.
I spend a fair amount of time here (on East Coast) so it is difficult to gauge how it will play-out. What has gone a little unnoticed is the the Republicans rule the Senate and Congress which has not happened for sometime. I am not sure he will get an easy ride there but the over-riding expectation is that his first executive decision will be a big play. Watch out if you are a Mexican immigrant, a Muslim or Chinese.
Also, he is the oldest elected President at 70 - will he last?

Unless he's assassinated i don't see why he wouldn't last. Modern medicine and all that. Although with a FLOTUS like that his ticker might give in at some point!

Looking back at Reagan in action, you couldn't ever imagine Trump operating at this sort of level. He was quite amusing anyway:

Honestly, I don't know if he actually wants to be president. He wanted to run, sure, raises profile, looks like a fun challenge. And he wanted to win, because he likes to win. But I don't think he's actually given any thought to what he does now and what the job actually entails.

If you're wondering why Trump won it's because this scene is from a forty year old film and it's still as relevant as ever.
