Labour about to collapse. 09:44 - Jun 26 with 20421 views | trampie | Labour is on the verge of collapse both internally and amongst voters, apparently a third of people that voted Labour in the last General Election would now vote for other parties, people are also speculating that up to a half of the Labour shadow cabinet could resign.

Labour about to collapse. on 00:42 - Jun 30 by Ebo | The view that any sort of Labour government was better than the Tories is what gave us New Labour and Tony Blair. The consequences of that in terms of the Iraq war, PFI, deregulation, market models for the public sector, inequality, the securitisation of the state and more are still with us and will get worse. Those opposing Jeremy Corbyn have no answers to these problems and the vacuum in political life and public debate which followed New Labour’s move to the right is what gave us Brexit. The Leadership of Jeremy Corbyn has been the subject of the most savage campaign of falsehood and misrepresentation. The reason is , that he and others such as John McDonnell have offered for the first time in over 20 years, the possibility of forming a socialist alternative in mainstream politics. This is a critical development which those on the left should support in any way we can. |
Much more superber post! http://www.peoplesmomentum.com/ I completely agree and it has to be questioned from what source is this rebellion truly coming from. It will be crushed, and hopefully the party will regroup in it's true form to fight all elements of globalisation.

Labour about to collapse. on 05:56 - Jun 30 with 1514 views | Dr_Winston | Nobody wants a Socialist alternative. That's the point you keep missing. Socialism is dead in this country. Michael Foot demonstrated that. Blair exists because there was no other way for Labour to gain and hold power.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

I've no sympathy with Labour they turned to the dark side decades ago and now reap what they sow, the disingenuous attacks and spin that they are using on Corbyn they have used on a reasonable sensible left of centre party like Plaid Cymru for decades so good riddance to Labour they deserve what they are getting.. The Red Tories need to breakaway and form their own party a new SDP, Corbyn gets attacked by the Conservatives and the Conservative press and the Red Tories within his own party, but he knows he has support from lots of the grassroots and at this stage is toughing it out, if Corbyn wins a leadership election again then surely the Red Tories will have to form their own party, can Labour just kick them out for being Tories anyway ?

Labour about to collapse. on 23:55 - Jun 29 by Brynmill_Jack | So you're saying that your dad would approve of the PLP overthrowing a socialist in favour of a centre right candidate? You won't get any prospective Nye Bevans coming through under the control of the cossetted Blairite infiltrators so Corbyn is the only answer as I see it. |
No but he'd certainly expect Labour to have a viable candidate who would have some chance of representing him through government - and perhaps had the tiniest notion of what normal hard-working people are concerned about. It always intrigues me how 'Blairite' has become derogatory foul language amongst the new breed of Labour supporter. A man who won 3 elections and saw Britain have a Labour government consistently from 1997 to 2010, compared to a man, Corbyn, who is totally unelectable and so promises absolutely no chance of another Labour government. Curious. Lovely letter in yesterday's Telegraph: "Sir, why are Labour supporters complaining about their lacklustre referendum campaign, when they elected a leader so lacking in lustre?" And please don't mention Nye Bevan in the same sentence as Corbyn.

Given your overwhelming support for Corbyn, I do find it strange that you ignored his opinion on the most important vote of our lifetime. If you can't trust his opinion on big issues and vote against him, what's the point of your support? | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Not to mention the absurd 'qualification success rate gravy train' which millions of pounds of money was wasted on pointless qualifications and made many a principal rich beyond their wildest dreams That money could have really helped develop our workforce but instead we ended up with people like this: http://feweek.co.uk/2014/05/16/commissioner-claims-first-scalp/ http://feweek.co.uk/2015/01/09/should-former-barnfield-boss-sir-peter-hand-back- http://feweek.co.uk/2016/02/19/principal-blamed-as-college-sent-into-administere

I think if we're honest Lisa he was a very reluctant remain campaigner. His heart was always out of Europe. To be honest he should have worn his heart on his sleeve like Frank Field did and campaigned leave instead. Fat lot of good it's done him backing remain. His MP's want to kick him out anyway.....

Yes - I thought that'd be your answer. But doesn't that make him incredibly duplicitous then? I thought he had principles? His MPs want to kick him out as they, as with all other MPs, want a chance of some degree of power. Rumour has it this evening he wants out by the way, but others (McDonnell / Abbott?) are trying to persuade him to stay. Maybe about to come to a head.
