chris ramsey/manager? on 22:43 - Aug 16 by Mvpeter | Can anyone provide any evidence that he's even a good coach? |
^^^^This. Apparently he won some games with some tinpot yank outfit a few years ago, and then coached some under 9's or something

chris ramsey/manager? on 22:23 - Aug 16 by QPR1882 | Why does everyone keep going on about 2 games. Ramsey has been in charge at QPR for 20 games and has won only 4 ( 22% for you statos out there ) What i have noticed is pretty much the same ones who were standing by Harry until they saw the light are standing by Ramsey. Ramsey is a great coach he is not a manager and i for one would have liked to seen a manager not a coach employed by the club after Harry. To late now revolving door does not always work, we made our bed we now have to lie in it. |
"What i have noticed is pretty much the same ones who were standing by Harry until they saw the light are standing by Ramsey. " I think this is the whole point. Not many of the people standing by Ramsey are doing so because he's shown to be a great manager. They are doing so because they believe in giving the manager, any manager, sufficient time to establish their philosophy and implement it with their players. I personally believe that you should give a manager at least a year to form a squad in their own image and implement their brand of football. We haven't exactly shown ourselves as shrewd in our managerial appointments, so I have no faith a new manager would be a significant improvement immediately. As Ramsey had only had 3 games so far to work with a squad he had at least partial involvement in creating, I think it's too soon to judge

''What i have noticed is pretty much the same ones who were standing by Harry until they saw the light are standing by Ramsey.'' Utter nonsance. I didnt want 'H' from the start and said so from the start.I had many an argument both on here and on QPReport about Redknapps record as a manager. Many time on here in the early days of 'H's reign I got the old 'zzzzzz, change the record - you've got an agenda' reply when I let my feelings known about him. And just from memory I can recall Antii , Hunter, Brian and Ranger78 being against him early doors and like me all of those posters are willing to give CR a chance. Stop trying to make out that people who are sensibly not shouting for CR's head after TWO league games are foolish happy clappers whith heads in the sand...TWO games..Un f'cking believable

2things... 1 I am not shouting for CR head I have stated that. All I have said is we made the wrong choice and we are stuck with it 2 CR has been in charge for 20 games not 2, that is what I am judging him on.

chris ramsey/manager? on 22:14 - Aug 16 by Suffolk | Some of you guys need to chill out and go and play Football League Manager on your games consoles. You will be able to knock one out once you win the league title with Accrington Stanley and feel justified in your belief that you are the pinnacle of football management. Two games into the season with a squad yet to be finalised. Give it a rest. |

Yes with his ( or Les ) squad. But you can still judge a manager on tactics, team selection, subs, reading and changing a formation on how the game is going etc if the players are your choice or not. Harking back on it I know but 3 other teams were in a similar position to us last season and stayed up after changing managers. Those new managers did not pick the squad they were given. After taking Chery off on Saturday what has CR learnt about making tactical subs.

3 clubs who are far better run than us Perfect example is how come Hughes failed with us but is doing a great job at Stoke I had no problem with the subs on Sat and if we converted 1 of those chances then we would of won small margins
chris ramsey/manager? on 11:13 - Aug 17 with 1420 views | adhoc_qpr | Tony/Ruben are overseeing the club. Lees Hoos is making sure the numbers add up and we get the financials under control. Les is in charge of the football operations from youth team setup, to scouting, to transfers to appointments. Ramsey is in charge of the coaching and performance of the first team - that is what he should be judged on. If you think a manager has to have his 'own' team to get results, look at the job Alex Neill did for Norwich last season (taking over from an out of his depth youth team coach...). You can ignore Ramsey's results and management last season if you want - but if he/his teams keeps making the same mistakes again, we can't say we weren't forewarned.

Precisely, and hindsight will be a great thing. However, I am not convinced he has been brought in just to get results. I think he has been brought in by Les to change the ethos at the club from buying in 'solutions' to weaknesses int eh team, to discovering young, hungry players, as well as promoting our own youth, and coaching them into those that can deliver results. That is why I dont have particularly high expectations for results. When his tenure comes to an end, which it surely will, I will be judging that as to whether he has turned the club around for the long term rather than whether he has delivered promotion. Will the next manager be appointed to continue with that style and take a team to the next level. It would appear that TF and the board are trying to emulate the likes of Southampton, Swansea etc, who have built their clubs in this manner I dont think the squad is so poor as to get relegated, yet I dont actually know what it will be on 1st September. I dont think he is such a poor coach either. Maybe I am wrong, yet even then I would like this experiment to be given time as what we have tried before hasnt worked out too well either. I know I sound like a turkey voting for Christmas as the board may just bugger off if this doesnt work. Maybe dark times are around the corner again, but I dont see it yet. I think there is a good chance, givent eh opportunity, that Les and CR will lay sound foundations for the club going forward. Most that has happened since he was appointed chime pretty well with what I hoped would happen. I still dont think we will have a disastrous season (ie relegation or just avoiding it).
