I'm assuming the purchase issues may need to be sorted first.

Well....

This much is fact.

There were a team of surveyors at the Liberty last weel taking sight lines with theodolites.

The main contracor and M&E subcontracts have also been awarded.

Things are moving on albeit at a very slow pace.

Planned for 2023.
In the meantime they are going to put terraced seating in the car park for 3000 people, and have a big screen set up. Should be good.

Rossi's are doing a 4 story extension, going over the road into the car park. Should be good.

As long as the prem and TV money keeps rolling in there is no incentive to expand the ground.

The club have little interest in expanding our fanbase at footfall level but happy to push a global brand internationally and rake in a marketing interest

There must be vast amount of kids in South Wales who will never get much chance to get to matches .. get hooked and fans for life even if we fall on rocky ground in future seasons.

Can't blame the club from a business perspective but its the fans that are the future of any club.

Good post, we've been promised the extensions for about 3yrs or more now and yet its still no closer to getting started, good job our little cousins are floundering or peeps would be heading east to watch Prem football, these budding little Jacks need to be housed asap.

Either that or the club is hoping for safe standing to be introduced, although notsure how much that would increase the capacity it at all.

So you are suggesting we take £20m from the playing pot, build to 27k and get relegated

Yes, I'd be happy with that.

What are you saying? That we can never guarantee not getting relegated, so we should never expand the stadium?

At present, we'd also have one of the smallest stadiums in the Championship.

Good post.
The double edged sword of TV money. We no longer need the fans coming through the turnstiles to provide the income.
Although the few million the club gets (ticket sales, programmes, club shop sales etc) adds a nice little earner, allowing for a greater divi.
Trouble is, if the TV money ever dries up ( successive relegations, no parachute payments, a new sport taking over World wide interest,) then the club is screwed without fans.
No fans = no club.
We're all getting older and as we do, we attend more funerals than weddings/ Christenings. Or so it seems
We need to start bringing the rugrats in to keep the interest growing. We all know and understand that the best way to get todays kids hooked is if they see players they see on Sky all the time, the record transfers, the Worlds best etc playing regularly down here.
I got hooked within a few games of watching the Swans playing live, starting with Tosh's first game in charge and it's been a costly (financially and emotionally!!) interest ever since. Wouldn't change it for the World though.
My daughter got hooked somewhere around her 7th birthday (on the NB, just in front of the TV gantry). She's still watching all the home games ( some away, when she gets a babysitter) now, some 16 years on. Taking the grand daughter down next. Get her hooked hopefully as well.
Yes we have ST's and therefore I shouldn't care if the ground is extended or not. But I do.
I think of all the bad times and good I've had watching the Swans, home and away, and want as many people as possible to experience the emotions we've all gone through, the highs of winning, the lows of losing, the expectations of a new signing etc.
Although preferably no Silver Shield/ 9th floor/ Petty saga again though!

If you wake up breathing, thats a good start to your day and you'll make many thousands of people envious.
