It's simple as always Clive! You speak the truth! No one in particular can or should be blamed for this or any previous debacles. Anyone in any profession needs to "put a shift in". If they don't, there is only one result. Substandard! I (as we all do) love my R's, but... I did feel as though we were pulled completely apart due to our shape and formation on Friday though, and didn't see much of a reaction from CR in remedying that. Like for like (energy levels), Mackie for Chery, but no real solution to a glaringly obvious problem. I agree with many other's appraisals of some of the regular playing staff this season. I'd like to see Smithies given a chance, if only to justify the hierarchy's vision of the future. After all we bought and sold a better goalkeeper in McCarthy, even if it was for the fact he had higher aspirations. Who knows whether he'd have stayed or not, given a run in the team at any stage last season. Do we need to lose another decent keeper by giving Green "one more year"? Perch? Well, there's an enigma! Onuoha? Nothing that anyone else hasn't already said. Not a leader, and probably better used in "the enigmas" position! Angella? Looks "half" decent, with the emphasis (as you can see) on the half. Thought it a bit unfair on Grant Hall, who was starting to look OK. Konchesky? Don't think he's done a bad job overall, and until Friday, growing in stature. I'd give Yun a chance again, but I think would be one of the more difficult calls. I'd certainly bring Hill back in for the next couple of games. Why? Glaringly obvious! Faurlin? He (whilst like everyone else, I love him!) isn't the same player we all remember! He's a yard off it most of the time, and when he's under pressure, his distribution isn't as good as it once was. Sentiment?! Henry? F*** off! What does he do? Doughty should now be holding down one of these two positions! Absolutely no doubt in my mind about that whatsoever! Diamond 4? I want to start by saying that I don't think Fer and/or Sandro have the heart (or guts) for this fight! By which I mean the campaign ahead. Austin (when he's fit) obviously! Chery, who I believe has already shown signs, will (I am absolutely convinced!) come good long term. Luongo, simply because, he's the only one who's shown that he IS actually up for the fight, week in week out, and actually possesses a bit of talent too. Phillips? Sorry, never been convinced. Yes, he did well the second half of last season, and started well this one, but as someone previously mentioned above, "goes AWOL"! I think Seb Polter could be a good backup for Charlie, if he ever gets the opportunity, not necessarily in terms of goals, but for sheer graft. After all, isn't that what this team needs! PS I like the look of Ben Gladwin too! I'd also like to see CR be more flexible with formation, as I do think we're being controlled in midfield, a little too often. It will be a long hard season, and we will stick with Chris Ramsey, simply because of the message that TF and the board have put out there this season. Too much egg on the face not to! COYR's!!! |

Agree with everything you've said Clive, even your score prediction and scorer. Don't believe we're god enough to win here, but neither are they at home. I do think Zamora is becoming less effective, as teams understand what we're all about ie. "lump it up to Bobby!" Think it's time to take a chance with Vargas or even RGC. What we've tried isn't working. Time for change. Shit or bust! |
| News Comment | Myths, scapegoats and excuses - Redknapp at 16:37:43
Absolutely spot on Clive, though I do fear that in this modern day business (yes, I said business, not game!), it goes a lot deeper than QPR. The premiership has become like some war torn African nation, where the winning side hires the best mercenaries! Let's face it, there are so many (so called decent) players willing to sit on benches and collect their wages, at bigger clubs than ours, so if you buy into that mentality as Fernandes so obviously has, you're only gonna get the mercenaries that maybe won't try so hard, or that nobody else wants. We have to go back to basics...YOUTH!!! It may mean going backwards for a while, and we can only hope that the current board can see the long term picture, but it's the only way, because "the modern day game/business" is not suddenly going to do a U-turn, the Premier League will always attract mercenaries, and only the elite can afford the cream. I love my Hoops, but I've found little to excite or thrill me since Warnock left. Predictable is not a word I was used to as a QPR supporter for 36 years before his departure, and predictability is not something I sit comfortably with. TF please! I hope you're speaking the truth, when you talk about your vision of seeing us go back to a club that promotes youth, and more importantly I hope you've got deep enough pockets and big enough balls to see it through, if we don't survive this season, because there's a good chance of that happening. Up or down, I'm happy Redknapp's gone, but as you said Clive, let's not keep making the same mistakes. Love my Hoops! COYR's!!! |

Great article again Clive. I noticed most of these as they happened, and I'm glad you've opened a few more eyes to what a senile old dinosaur of a manager he really is, and how out of touch he is with the modern game. I made a promise after the Man.Utd. game, that I wouldn't watch my beloved Hoops again until HR left. I couldn't keep my promise, and watched them vs Stoke, but for the 1st time in my 40 years as a supporter I didn't celebrate our goal, and only realised a couple of minutes later. Felt strange, and yet I was jumping around like we'd just stuffed Man.Utd, when I heard the news he gone last night. Up or down? Who know's, but now I look forward to watching my beloved Hoops again. |

PS You should be able to share these articles to a wider audience Clive. You always write such well thought out, informative and truthful articles, which more fans need to read. I know you're as passionate as any of us about our Hoops. Frustrating?! Doesn't even begin to describe it! |

Easy to say it, but I've been saying these things since Redknapp arrived, although in reality, I know this has been going on for a lot longer. I too am beginning to question Tony "Godsend" Fernandes, as literally nothing seems to be moving in a positive direction. Redknapp is a mediocre manager at best, having won an F.A.Cup and a Championship play off final in 32 years of management. He is in short, a dinosaur of the modern game. Like it or not, the modern day sport/business of football has changed massively since the playing days of Sir Les and the like, and it takes someone to understand today's game, to keep afloat. Harry's been drowning since the day he took over! I'll answer any questions, if I'm being to brief, but I for one have never been so bored with my beloved Hoops, since Harry took over. It's not been all bad, and I've seen worse in my 38 years (not much!), but BORED! We are predictable! I remember seeing us lose 5-0 away to Spurs, draw 5-5 at home to Newcastle the following week, and beat Partizan Belgrade 6-2, all within 3 weeks, in 1984. I can't imagine that kind of excitement under Redknapp. Will we ever beat a Crewe 8-1 again? I can't see it. I'm not saying that should be the norm, but, boring? Predictable? That's not my Q.P.R.! |
| News Comment | McClaren's superior prep leaves Redknapp facing questions — report at 16:44:42
Agree with so many of your comments. Does anyone else, whilst admiring Redknapp's PAST management of teams, feel that a man like 'Arry should not be the manager of our beloved Superhoops? I live in Thailand, and have been able to watch about 60% of our games via live streaming, whilst listening to the other 40% via QPR Player, and I can't recall being so bored, so often, in 37 years of supporting my (and our) club. I've been to Chesterfield on a wet windy Saturday in January, and seen us lose 4-2 in an uncovered terraced stand, where you can still watch the game over a short brick wall while taking a piss! My point is, I've been there through thick and thin (and always will be), and I don't recall being so bored as I have been with the predictability of it all this season. DesertBoot - you hit the nail on the head, with you comment - "What a ludicrous starting XI". I don't want to keep groaning to myself (before the game starts!) with some of the team selections this season! So again I'll say - the boring predictability of it all! I love QPR, they are my church. I love being a QPR supporter, for the unpredictability of it all, and 'Arry just does not sit well with me. He loves having familiar faces around him, which leads to the old adage "If your face don't fit!", and never a truer word spoken with Redknapp. Eg. we've just sent Diakite out on loan, who from the glimpses I've seen of him playing for the EDS, and what we already know, is a far greater player/threat than either or any of Henry, O'Neill or LTC! Kevin Hitchcock?! Will Keane?! What's the difference, and why would you favour giving another teams youth the chance ahead of your own? I could go on but...WTF 'Arry?! I'd love to see us back where we belong (said through blue and white hooped sunglasses!), but we'll struggle to get there with 'Arry's tactics (or lack there of) and mentality. Seemed to me like TF kept a tight reign on the purse strings in the latest window, and rightly so! Would you give your money to 'Arry based on what he'd previously bought in (Remy aside)? Sorry if you don't agree, but I don't like Harry Redknapp in charge of my team! End of! PS Clive. Watched the Derby game here, and you're spot on mate. You didn't big-up Derby, you clearly stated it as it was. They were the better side, simply because we were piss poor! And I got up at 2.30am to watch that shite, when I had to teach at 7.30am! Doh! Come on you R'sssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
| News Comment | Another summer of turmoil? at 10:11:41
Good article, and I agree in the main with everything, including ShotKneesHoop (totally agree) hinting at the fact the manager never wanted to be here. In my opinion, he's one of the worst money grabbers at the club. I believe that if your face doesn't fit with 'Arry, you don't get a look in, eg. Faurlin almost begging to come back to the club. Aside from Taarabt's goals, he was easily the best player for us in our Championship winning year. The other thing that is only slightly touched upon, and then never mentioned again, is the youth at QPR. Are we forgetting that we already have a few hungry youngsters in and around the squad in Max Ehmer, Michael Doughty, Michael Harriman and Frankie Sutherland. Yes we do need a couple of additions to our squad once we move out the flotsam and jetson, but if we can't find HUNGRY players, then give these young boys a chance! Let's hope that if 'Arry can indeed "wheel and deal", he doesn't bring in more "has beens", "never was beens", or "wanna has beens"! COYR's! |
| News Comment | Lessons unheeded, QPR down to ten and beaten at home again — full match report at 08:57:41
I've had a shite few months living and working as a teacher in Udon Thani in Thailand. I earn 25,000 baht/month (about £500). But I'm owed 64,000 baht, and have finally decided to leave the D***head's employment. Anyway, it seems that the only thing I've had to look forward to here, is my Saturday nights at 10pm (3pm GMT), when I get to watch my beloved R's live every week. Yes, that's right, LIVE EVERY WEEK! Well, quite frankly, it's becoming a bit of a drag! I left Thailand on August 14th 2010 to visit my family for 6 weeks, and ended up staying 9 months so I could get to see as many R's games (21) as I could afford. Before that I was questioning whether we'd ever see the promised land again. Now this! I can't believe the general lack of worthwile application from the likes of SWP & JB week in week out. How the f*** we can continue to get so many players sent off, especially in the first 35 minutes of games? Why doesn't Hughes see the obvious and take Diakite off before the red, when I'm sitting in a bar 7,000 miles away pleading with him to do so, while the people who know me take the p*** for yet another week, and those who don't think I'm deranged (a point that my friends agree with, on the basis that I torture myself with this every week). I guess my overall point is, that apart from 2 or 3 games at the start of the season, I have seen every game live, and I am now seriously worried. I would have said at the turn of the year that there were 4 teams worse than us. Now we are simply one of the 5 worse teams in the premiership. The general lack of leadership, drive, application, and plain old "grabbing the game by the b***s", is noticeably lacking/fading game by game. They look like a bunch of players with no confidence! I hope they can turn it around, because I love my R's as much as anyone, but I have a sneaking feeling that IF we escape the big R word, it'll be more down to the teams currently around us, and what results they DON'T pick up. Always the optimist, I'll watch every game to the death! Come on u R'ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss! |
