1500 season ticket sales at a time when the club should be bouncing tells it's own story. |

Dan Adshead on trial at Oldham in a friendly last night. Bit of a shame, I would have liked to see him back here. Although I guess the Aaron Henry signing probably put pay to that. |

With the perfect takeover in place and Season Ticket prices still set at affordable levels, there is every reason to feel optimistic about the club. But this doesn't really seem to have translated into Season ticket sales - 1500 feels disappointing to me. 2000 should be an absolute minimum when you consider where the club was and is now.
You can only put it down to the product on the pitch. Just hope that Jim has been reminded about the need to entertain and excite. |

As pre season starts, 14 professionals currently signed for this season, plus however many of the three scholars have accepted. 5 defenders in the squad, which includes Kyle Ferguson who struggled to stay fit all of last season. A 39yo Ian Henderson also. I'd say we are at least six players short currency, especially with the new guidance around permitted number of subs. Preparation looks poor again. |

Strange move by Oldham, but no complaints. I think there are question marks about his fitness and his concentration in games. Lost his runner many times last season. Maybe the two are linked ?

And still the club doesn't learn. The footballing decisions are still unfathomable. A two year contract for a player as limited as Armstrong is complete madness. Miles short of the standard of player needed to get out of this division. I assume it will be D'Mani Mellor next on a two year deal. |

Just a personal view but I dont see us getting out of this league with EEL in the side. A two year deal doesn't therefore feel like good business to me. |

Nobody is expecting a Wrexham, but the club needs a lift of some sort to re-ignite interest. Season Ticket sales to-date probably reflect that. |

Maybe the fans are looking for something to ignite their interest again. A few long-standing supporters that I go to games with have virtually lost interest because of the style of football. The idea of another season of Ebanks Landell and Nevitt passing sidewards to each other constantly in the name of entertainment isnt going to be enough to inspire a season ticket purchase for many.
Maybe a signing or two will create some momentum.
The club seems to have gone into hibernation, maybe key staff are on their summer holidays. We never did hear about the second year scholars and whether any were being given a pro contract.
Probably too early to judge but I'm not seeing anything fresh from the club so far, post-takeover. [Post edited 28 May 20:25]

Simple question to the board for me, based on their opening statement. How are we going to generate revenue without investing in the infrastructure/workforce ? It cannot just be about cutting costs. Simon Gauge will know that better than anyone, he's been doing it since he became chairman. The ground is tatty and the playing squad needs improvement. Everything is already being done on a shoestring so how can we accommodate more cost cutting ? We aren't talking Wrexham proportions but money needs to be spent to get the club moving forward again. |

Fantastic news of course it is.

If the focus is on cutting costs still further, how are we actually going to be able to increase revenue? This type of model hasn't worked for the last four years. |
