Things You Have Changed Your Mind About

Same here with "Cats in the cradle". Just thought it was a soft-rock cover of a song with a quirky chorus...... then when my son was born my missus played it to me again (the original Harry Chapin version, which was actually a reflection of his own lost relationship with his father) and I took note of the lyrics and ... *wallop* it really hit me what the song was about.

Father's in particular are so focussed on 'providing for my family' that they spend so long working and not seeing the children that they lose sight of what is actually really important... the kids. I put time with them over material things all day long.

Wembley Stadium
at 17:36 18 Nov 2024

It's constantly referred to on TV as north London.

It fkin' well ain't.

It's postcode is HA9 0WS. This puts it west of what is already considered NW London

Therefore, Wembley is north west London or probably West North-West London.

This is North London, HA9 is not even close. TV commentators (or the auto-cue writers) are thick as pig$hit.

With the exception of Chelsea I really can't be bothered with hatred of clubs anymore. Probably have more disgust of my own at the moment!!

News blackout

This obsession with over saturated 24-7 news (in all walks of life, not just football) is like a drug and can be exhausting. I don't have twitter and I don't have tons of Facebook groups and I just keep an eye manually on a couple of news outlets.

It's so much better.

Maybe owners need to be a bit more savvy and not be so easily blinded by what they are told/presented with, a bit gullible if you ask me.

We had someone join at work a couple of years ago who told everyone above him everything they wanted to hear (about income revenue etc) and they lapped it up. I sussed out his BS within about 2 weeks but had to deal with the BS all that time, it was painful. He didn't even hit 50% of his promised revenue. He recently got made redundant.

Banning of "(insert player name) Give me your shirt" placards will also help.

Cringeworthy.

I'm not desperatley trawling for anything. Just that if you're going to include all League clubs geographically in and around London then a few were missed off the OP.

(yes, I know Daggers are now non League)

Don't forget AFC Wimbledon.

If we're going to geographically include Watford & Luton then Wycombe (as has been mentioned on one of the replies), Dagenham & Redbridge, Sutton Utd, Barnet and possibly even Bromley also have to be included too.

Shades of Briatore. For a man who came from the retail industry where 'the customer is king' he didn't half show utter contempt for the 'cutomers' of QPR.

Positive vibes/happy stories thread #19
at 12:50 6 Nov 2024

Mrs Juzzie left her job in the summer of 2023 due to them being cnts and decided to have a bit of time off and be a stay-at-home Mum. Started looking again this summer, couple of opportunities didn't come off but the other week after a couple of separate interviews she didn't get one offer, she got two!
Has accepted the more preferential one and starts in a few weeks.

Elder Juzzie child is old enough to come home from school and be at home by himself (though I will now WFH a bit more often), younger Juzzie child will go to childminder for about 3 hours.

Very few managers just end up leaving a club. Most get sacked. There has been suggested he signed the contract much earlier than the day of the fans forum so if it was in the summer then that’s when no games are played. Maybe something has gone wrong since then and this is his only way out now.

Bosingwa may have won more than 'arry but his attitude at QPR stank the place out. His reputation for me hasn't budged at all (from zero).
