All very nice and exciting from a bunch of wet behind the ears kids; but just win something or do something impressive in football before giving it the nutty whallops… …sorry; not sure why but this has really danced a merry jig on my teets. Maybe by 12 y/o kid will enjoy this, so there you go. …sorry all. 🫣 [Post edited 2 Jul 20:41]

Interesting to see the pre season matches, which are far more aligned to that Manure and Leicester lineup a few years back when we had intentions of slick football and top six…. I do think there are parallels, especially if some Eze money comes in and we can re-deploy some high (Willock/begovic) and unnecessary (Kakay/etc) money to valuable New players. |

What a waste of a career… he’ll suddenly start to get interested in a year or so when he realises that his career will soon be over and he will have to rely on his 4 years I’ll gotten gain from QPR for the rest of his life. Sad. |

Very big risk from Sinclair tbf… if he’s not good enough and that becomes patently clear this coming season he won’t get another chance elsewhere… potentially turned away a chance for a multi-year contract at QPR on decent wages… oops. He’s clearly confident in his ability, or his agent is gambling with his career and earning potential. [Post edited 12 Jun 17:51]

Ruben: “here’s 10% shareholding of the club Marti”. Marti: “Thanks boss, when do I get my profit share?” Ruben: “Actially Marti, now you’re a shareholder, I was going to ask you for £160,000 as your 10% contribution to cash flow the club’s monthly losses”. [Post edited 29 May 22:33]

I still remember that darren peacock header in front of the loft to put us 2-0 up against Chelsea in 1992… you could hear the thud so clearly as it rocketed into the top corner. Long live that header.. Are the suspected football related cases of dementia associated with the heavy footballs of the pre-80’s? Can they make footballs a little lighter again still? … not 99p football light; but slightly lighter. [Post edited 18 May 8:51]

When standards drop, the rot sets in. Hope QPR invest some money in Loftus Road, even if just for the short term, standards matter. [Post edited 12 May 21:35]

We’ve made about £13m out of Sterling though - and it wasn’t really QPR’s failure to keep him; rather a case of QPR being shafted by the rules. |

…John Barnes. …actually, did he ever play for us (youth level) or was he just a local fan that our scouts missed out on? |

To be fair, even under warburton (for all the great stuff he did); there was still a bit of “we’ve got less money / what do you expect” about it. |
| Forum Reply | Chris Willock at 08:38 5 May 2024
I agree - i would be surprised if there are clubs interested in him frankly. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a climb down from his agent/dad when it comes to it. Such a shame. There were times a couple of years ago when people were seeing Willock as the next Eze in terms of ability. Look how the two have diverged. Partly due to an unfortunate injury for Willock, but mainly due to his approach to ‘playing’ the contract game. Eze played his heart out week on week, signed a new deal the year before leaving to increase his stock and then continued to work and work - getting a very savvy move to an established premier club and now look at him. Willock has turned it on and off to preserve his ‘fitness’ so he might be able to get a bigger pay day at a bigger championship club. Such a shame and a waste - but his decision entirely.
