Looking at the picture on the Fleetwood twitter page which included an unfamiliar face, the trialist will have been Rico Patterson, not Rico Browne. Patterson is an attacking midfielder. |

Bailey isn't a striker. But the first year pros aren't players who can come off the bench 15 times a season or offer a genuine alternative option at first team level at this point in their careers. Youngsters coming in on loan have either had more experience in the first teams at EFL clubs, maybe in cup competitions or they're from much higher standard academies and therefore a higher ability level. We need a bigger squad this season because we get more substitutes. We have a bigger budget and it would be daft not to use it to our benefit. |

Cameron John found his level last season but can't be relied on to play a full season either so I wouldn't have even offered him a deal in the first place, let alone want him back now. He was also poor at centre back and only really looked good when he was getting forward. There are options out there, there will be a loan market to utilise too for all of those positions. I actually also think we probably need another centre midfielder, an experienced one, maybe not too dissimilar to the Clayton signing in terms of profile. Another forward I think is important too, to be able to change things around. We need a bigger squad this season and we're going to need more options than we have. |

That's a good post TS and you know I find it uneasy agreeing with you! There's been no buzz this summer. We've had a successful takeover that has saved the football club by the Ogden Trust and while I get that there's lots of work going on, it really does look like we've failed, or are failing to capitalize on it. There's been no family fun day like last year because the new kits still aren't announced, hell, the team are even having to play in last years kits at the minute. There's evidently been an issue, and I've got my own assumptions but wouldn't speculate on here but it's really poor on that front. Season tickets are down because it's barely been marketed and when it has been advertised, it's been done at a time where nothing is going on. I don't know the figures of what season tickets were last season but I suspect we're down on last season. Part of this will be the style of football, I'm not a fan of it either, but a bit part of it will be because the optics of the situation are that the club just assume our loyalty is there regardless of what's going on and so they don't need to try and entice people back. The pricing of season tickets can't be argued with in all honesty and so it won't be that putting people off, but there has to be a buzz around the club and there just isn't. And given we've been saved from extinction by the family of someone brought up in Rochdale and is one of the wealthiest people in the country, it's mind-blowing to me. You could argue that people shouldn't need to be enticed back, but they do, and it's not like we're only aiming to get renewals, we desperately need new supporters through the gate as well. The last home game of the season was over 12 weeks ago, the first home friendly isn't for another 10 days and there's been no reason to get up to Spotland in all that time apart from to meet the new board and Joey T charity match, no training day, no fun day, no kit launch, no major fan engagement, one big interview with the manager spread over three website stories. It might sound like moaning for the sake of moaning but I was expecting an exciting summer after the takeover, and there's been very little. |

Think we're still way off in terms of squad building to push for the playoffs. We're desperate for a left sided centre half. I believe we were in for Jamie Stott who recently joined Morecambe from Halifax so I'm hopeful McNulty agrees. We also need a pacy right sided attacker. Allarakhia, McBridge and even Barlow seem more suited to the left hand side while Adebayo-Rowling is more suited to playing wingback. We need someone as direct as Hayes who can chip in with goals. We've lost Sinclair (10 goals), Hayes (7 goals), Keohane (7 goals), and to a lesser extent Mather (2 goals) and I'm not at all convinced that Allarakhia, McBride, Barlow, Henry, Beckwith replace those numbers. A fully fit Devante Rodney will help on that front but that very much remains to be seen, he's already missed our first friendly through injury. I'm also not convinced Mitchell's return will be as good as it was last season, though I hope it is obviously and Henderson will be 40 in January. At this point, I think we're a way off looking even as strong as last season so hopefully much more to come on the recruitment front. |

The trialist keeper at Warrington was indeed Max Little, most recently at Dunfermline and QPR academy before that. Didn't go so can't say how he did unfortunately. |
| Forum Reply | Brad Kelly Signs New Contract at 10:59 8 Jul 2024
Of course he's not going to be number 1, Jim alludes to it in his interview that there's still a lot of work to do with recruitment and I'm pretty sure he mentioned the goalkeeping department. I know Jim spoke highly of Kelly but giving the first choice goalkeeper position to someone who has played one professional game, conceding 5 goals would be bonkers I think. I think the next natural step for BK would be to become the goalkeeper for cup competitions, which presumably he was for last season but we went out in the first round of the FA Trophy and he didn't play in the FA Cup Qualifier. To be thrown in as number one at this stage is detrimental to the team and to the player IMO. |

It's absolutely ridiculous, whoever is at fault. Just wasted sales at a time when people are going on their holidays and might want a new top to wear abroad, or like me, you've got a kid who's just had a birthday and wanted a Dale kit to wear at training but will get a snide United kit instead. Last season we had a family fun day to launch the new kits. Nothing mentioned about anything like this for this season. |

The likes of Lammy, Rayner and "their ilk" or Sunak, Gove, Cleverly, Dowden, Hunt, Cameron (Who is a major major part of the absolutely dustbin fire that is Brexit, a huge reason we've had so many issues to do with immigration which is pushing people towards Reform) and countless other contributors to the worst government in my lifetime. Not to mention it's previous "right honourables" in Johnson (the criminal), Truss (who literally crashed the economy), Raab, Hancock, Reece-Mogg etc. You're right though, this isn't a Labour government like the ones previous, and there is definitely a worry that they're not the party for us woke lefties anymore but the change that's actually needed (in my opinion of course) either isn't there or isn't substantial enough a threat to the Tories. My major worry is the momentum that Reform are building DESPITE them being shown up for what they are and what they're built on. My biggest wish would be that the Lib Dems kick the Tories into third and become the opposition but there's not much chance of that happening unfortunately. |

It will be a Labour vote from me, unsurprisingly, though I too am not completely won over by them and understand the "Tory's in red ties" line that people are coming out with but that said, there's very little other option to seriously rid the country of the absolute shambles we'd have for the last 14 years. The amount of people I hear and see wanting to vote for the Racist UK Party both saddens and worries me greatly that the whole country might see a bit of an uprising in the next 10 years from the very right of politics. |
