This season 03:48 - Mar 10 with 1056 views | saint22 | Boy it’s been tough, a bore, frustrating, lacking management, effort the list goes on I know the majority of us can’t get back to real football in the Championship and are all fed up with the PL. I saw something posted somewhere that rang very true, not a Saints fan but a regular football fan saying this PL season has been the worst ever, 3 teams already down, league winners already confirmed, Forest and maybe Bournemouth only element of surprise, sh1te atmosphere everywhere bar a couple and VAR ruining a third of results each week Pretty spot on
This season on 07:44 - Mar 10 with 947 views | PatfromPoole | The best thing about football is the bit where you’re not watching football. The pre-match meet-up in the pub is all I go to football for. I get zero enjoyment from the game itself. I keep telling myself that next season will be better. We shall see.

This season on 07:59 - Mar 10 with 919 views | cocklebreath | I’m so bored of professional football, dull games, no atmosphere, I tried to watch the Man U game yesterday but turned off because the commentators were annoying me. Fortunately I get to watch my son play twice a week at a good standard, 5 wins from winning the league, exciting times.

This season on 08:08 - Mar 10 with 905 views | Heisenberg | The Premier League. You hate it when you are in it and have no interest when you are not. Overpriced hyped up and media driven top level football has turned its back on its working class roots. Add to that the cheating win at all costs approach there is nothing to like. Last game I went to was non league. Cost me a tenner and was a great day out.

I was in Liverpool on Saturday for the first time in ages when the shite were playing. Getting the local Merseyrail train on the way into town, I didn’t see a single Liverpool fan. Getting off at Lime Street and there they were, thousands of them, replica’d up, half and half scarves, selfie sticks at the ready with more accents than a trip to Disneyland. My cousin is a red and he says that the club allow them to take ruck sacks in with them, provided they are bought from the club shop. They couldn’t be further away from the culture of fan base of their roots. They even had stewards in hi-vis jackets in town telling their own fans how to get to the ground. The premier league is choreographed and soulless, designed and marketed for these tourists not for the working class people who used live and breath the club, its a television programme now. The sooner they have their super league Netflix series and piss off, the better.
This season on 08:25 - Mar 10 with 872 views | mushinexile | No. I want to see my team in the Premiership and going as high as it can, that is its purpose, even though Championship football was a lot better last season. Next season will be a repeat of this one, only a division lower down and that will not be as much fun.
This season on 08:36 - Mar 10 with 831 views | MytchettSaint | Like Pat I've enjoyed the days out, done a couple of away trips with my son that we've enjoyed for the change of scenery. The last couple of weeks I have had other things to occupy me, I said to my son that I've not missed Saints ruining the weekend for me. I'm torn about this Saturday. I know we've been seen as 3 away points for which ever team is turning up but we also seem to particularly bend over for Wolves to stick it in that little but more over the last few years. I've never wanted a season to finish more than I have this one. It is also a little disappointing the lack of any sort of statement from the club about this seasons sh!tshow. I know there isn't much they can say, but some form of acknowledgement about it and a loose statement of intent for next year (plans are in place etc.) wouldn't hurt. I'm not holding my breath though, the next comms will be in April with regards to season ticket renewals. Fan engagement, much like their ability to get football right is zero. WE MARCH (d)O(w)N

Don't forget half time on the concourse where you can have a winge with your mates about whether to go back to the pub then or wait for the 3-0 down rule

"The sooner they have their super league Netflix series and piss off, the better." Absolutely! However, the likes of Bournemouth, Brighton and Forest are probably loving it at the moment

We will see how much they love it in the summer when Iriola leaves for Spurs and Gibbs-White joins City. Fair do’s they have done great, as have Villa but the snaky six will find a way of halting their development. Just look at the restrictions Villa have had with PSR this season.

I came to that conclusion 5 years ago. So many more fun things to do on a Saturday afternoon. Tbh I’m amazed middle age men follow the club round the country.

Agree with that but make the most of where you are at the moment, although I don't think Bmuff fans have the savvy to realise that with their regular 11k fans believing thay may actually also get a nice new shiny 20k stadium at some point so that they can stay up there with the big boys I mean, even we almost started to believe our own press about a top 4 spot!

This At the end of the day good players want to win trophies and only 5/6 clubs in this country win MAJOR TROPHIES ie premier league , FA cup , champions league . It’s only a matter of time before Brighton ,Bournemouth ,Brentford etc lose all their stars and decent managers like we did .

He said that the club didn't bring in enough athletic players, to deal with the power and athleticism of the PL. He said that the club was rocked and affected by Wilcox leaving us in the lurch and that the club were naive about how difficult the Premier league is. Without Wilcox, there wasnt anyone in the club to recruit effectively. He said that half the team were there the last time we got relegated and half the team were new to it and it was difficult and continues to be difficult. The players don't believe that they are good enough to cope in the PL. [Post edited 10 Mar 21:56]
