Stefan Moore has failed to impress in two and a half years with QPR and is all set to move on at the end of this campaign if not before.
DOB - 28/09/1983
Height - 5ft 11ins
Weight - 10st 11lbs
Contract - 2008
"He'll chase paper bags in the park," was what Ian Holloway told us when we asked 'Stefan who?' I'm still not quite sure what he meant but having watched Stefan over the past two years all I'll say is I wouldn't want him chasing my paper bags in the park.
Part of the all conquering Aston Villa youth side that has produced the likes of Liam Ridgewell and Peter Whittingham for the first team at Villa Park. Stefan played the majority of his football out on loan in the Championship with Millwall and Leicester and League One with Chesterfield before signing for QPR. He made twenty eight appearances for Villa, mostly as a sub, and scored two goals.
Signed for Rangers on a free transfer in the summer of 2005, on the same day his brother Luke signed anew three year deal at Villa Park and that seems to be the main problem. Released by the club you love because your brother is a better player than you isn't likely to do anybody's confidence any good and despite a goal on his home debut for Rangers against Sheffield United Moore has cut a lonely and forlorn figure for much of the season.
He just doesn't put the work rate in of somebody like Dexter Blackstock, he ambles after the man in possession and chases back passes with the air of someone who knows he has to be seen to do it but doesn't really believe he's going to get to the ball. He's too laid back, too nice. Chances are that after a matter of seconds he'd allow the paper bags to do as they please because it's just too much hassle to catch them.
Started just twelve games in 2005-06 and scored two goals after signing a three year contract with Rangers. After starting last season on the transfer list, he was soon shipped out to Port Vale, making 13 appearances and scoring one goal. He returned an injured player, but John Gregory gave him his chance in the latter stages of the season and he made 3 appearances for the first team after some half decent reserve performances. He made little impact from a new position wide on the left but Gregory remorselessly used him the following season until his sacking. His time at the club must surely be coming to a close with his contract up at the end of this seaon.
