Very lucky result. Same old slow build up with no idea when we get near their area. As soon as they pressured us the same old mis passing and silly professional fouls start. I hope it builds confidence but very much doubt it.

Definitely a lot more clearing the ball today. Ramsdale earned his money. Arma with a lovely clean strike.

COYR need that win next week now!

Fernando's is fast becoming the m/f player we wanted and the first half proved that he can comfortably play with AL and not just as cover for him
When we took Stephens off for Sugawara it looked more balanced If KWP had been the one to play in front of Captain Jack instead of Manning we may even have created more chances. Was it just me who breathed a big sigh of relief when he went off?
Star of the show was undoubtedly Rambo He kept us in it a couple of times and his clearances were more varied than of late
Hopefully this will give their confidence a big lift Now watching Wolves v CP and hoping for a draw

Poor game between two average teams. We sit so deep that the gap between midfield and forwards is huge, which means Archer works his socks off for little reward.
The stadium and game as a whole was given a massive lift with the introduction of Dibling and a couple of positive runs. Not sure why we played Manning as a winger when we have better alternatives, not belittling his contribution though.
A worrying two minutes for the offside decision but we will need to make a big step up to remain in the PL.

First 30-35 minutes were a borefest. Then we at least moved it forwards quickly through Downes and Fernandes a couple of times - more of that please! Second half was more interesting, but nerve shredding at times. About time we got the rub of the green. KWP was energetic throughout, Ramsdale showed his worth, Dibling oozed class once he came on. What a winner - so happy for Arma, great work from Suginara. Showed we have a chance to survive.

A somewhat fortunate win but we have been unlucky until today. Lots of possession with little end product. Ramsdale’s brilliant save was notable. Everton had the better chances but failed to take them. Why did the VAR call take so long?

Well worked goal and we battled well though did give the ball away time after time. Still three precious points at last. I’ll be there for the massive game at Wolves next Saturday.

A few observations, fwiw:

1. Coming into the season, I've had Everton pegged for relegation. Today they were poor, and are relegation-fodder indeed! (But a January cash injection from new ownership may end up saving them.)

2. Everton's offense (if you can call it that) made us look fairly assured in defense. Even when we were caught out we somehow made it look like we weren't. I wonder how long we can pretend until it becomes the real thing. Two games running of not being punished when we should've been could be just the tonic.

3. If anything keeps us up, it's Ramsdale's hands. (That sounds a bit naughty; but, truth be told, we still look pretty flaccid. [See below.]

4. We rode our luck, and took pretty much our only gilt-edged chance. Credit to Dibbling and Armstrong for making that happen.

5. We still seem to not know what to do in attack.

6. And this is the most emphatic observation: Our speed of play is nowhere near where it needs to be. I'm unsure why, but both Man City and Everton played to our pace(lessness). We need to be quicker to every ball and much quicker and much more deliberate in attack, on the wings and in the middle of the pitch.

7. The past two weeks' results have flattered us. But perhaps we can build on them.
