Atko back at Spotland Wednesday, 5th Jan 2011 18:49 by Col Former loanee Will Atkinson has rejected the chance to remain at Milmoor for the rest of the season, and opted for a move to Spotland instead. Atkinson was a sensation at Spotland last season, with Dale winning seven of his first eight games for the club, and Dale fans were saddened to see him depart the club at the end of his three month loan spell. His time at Dale had a major influence on his career, as upon his return to Hull, he was thrust into the first team, even scoring a goal at Anfield against Liverpool. He went out to Rotherham on loan back in November, and he grabbed his first goal for the club over the New Year weekend. His success prompted Millers boss Ronnie Moore to approach Hull for Atkinson's services for the remainder of the season, and all indications were that a deal had been struck. Indeed, the deal had been announced to the press, but the South Yorkshire club were forced to backtrack when it transpired that Atkinson had changed his mind after a last minute bid to bring him back to Spotland.
