It’s the same old, same old every season. We sign players whose ultimate ambition is to be bottom half championship players so they’re just happy to take where we finish, bottom half. Bored of it now. |

Was there when Desert Orchid won what was his third Gold Cup I think, somehow came from miles back, reckon the whole racecourse was on him too, one of the finest sporting moments I’ve been to, crowd went mental. Think the bookies are strangling the sport too, they seem to shorten the odds on everything fancied. |

Three more points and this will all be over. Think about it lads, one more push and you can all put your feet up. You know it makes sense. |

Totally agree, but that doesn’t fit with the system we seem to be determined to deploy. |

Absolutely, I’ve certainly missed a few. I guess it’s the notion of what a no 10 is. Back in the day it was more easily definable but in the context of todays football it’s blurred at best and of all the ones I mentioned plus the ones you and others have pointed out, what constitutes a 10 no longer exists. The idea that Madsen was brought in to emulate any of those is laughable, even if he was any good he would be nothing like any of them. That goes for everyone since Gallen, including Eze, who was never a 10. More an 8 in the Gerry Francis mould. In short, 10 is extinct, it ceases to be. [Post edited 10 Mar 16:44]

Had me thinking but I always saw Allen as the number 9 |

Perhaps we could have retired the no 10 shirt when Stan passed. Not just the shirt, but at this club, any mention of the number other than in a historical context. Rodney was a no 10, Stan was a no 10, Stainrod was a no 10 and last but not least Gallen was a no 10. I’m struggling to think of anything since that was truly a no 10. You make goals and you score goals as a no 10, the modern breed have literally no understanding of the role. Just bin it and stop insulting me with the clown infestation that masquerades in that supposed position season after season. We don’t have half a dozen number fckin tens, we have none. |

If the Frankie Friday thread was given its own app, would that solve the problem? |

Fear not fair maidens, four of the bottom five lost again. Think we’ve even got time for the customary six game running loss this season and still not go down, a sign of success if ever I saw one. |

You do realise that for the 15000 of us that show up at LR to cover the wage bill alone, each and every one of us would have to stump up about £1500 a year. TV and gate receipts (assuming we were still paying to get in) might just about cover most of the other overheads. Are you sure you’ve thought this through? |

Haha very good. Epsom. My senior railcard gets it down to £5.80 or at least it was until yesterday when Ghengis pushed it up to £6.10. |

I’m not entirely convinced that Russia do want to take the whole of Ukraine. I would have thought, if that was the case, they wouldn’t be so amenable to the US getting their hands on 50% of Ukraine natural resources, surely they would want that themselves? In 2014, after a democratically elected Ukrainian President was overthrown by a combination of EU and US pressure (considering how much we supposedly love democracy it’s fascinating how quick we were to overthrow a democracy we didn’t particularly like) it shouldn’t have been a surprise that Russia would at least take Crimea if only to ensure they still had that gateway to the Black Sea. Again, with the Ukraine push to NATO, it’s unsurprising that Russia have taken the part of Eastern Ukraine closest to Moscow. There seems little appetite to push further. We can rightly condemn them for these actions but it’s also easy to see, if you look hard enough, that all these moves could just as easily be seen as defensive actions rather than an attack on the whole of Europe. The Biden and Obama presidencies presided over both those calamities, that’s what we are all paying for now in dollars and pounds and Ukraine and Russia are paying for in bodies. Somehow they’ve walked away smelling of roses. Strange world. |

South West train to Clapham Junction, Mildmay to Shepherds Bush then a decision on pub of the week for daytime games or restaurant of the week for night games. £5.80 return from deepest Surrey so can’t complain. |

Yeah, think that was the point, the message behind the message. Love that type of film and hate the painting by numbers films where they do the thinking for you, reason why I couldn’t stand Conclave despite the good acting. Haven’t seen Substance yet, will do if it comes back round. |
