Nice one Nick and thanks, your reply and that of 1885 S F C made me smile and lightened my day. It’s what I like about your site, we may be one off the bottom of the league on goal difference having only scored one goal in four games but there is always room for some humour. |

Given both Club’s perilous league position together with a desire not to get players injured I wouldn’t be surprised if the referee stopped the match owing to both teams not wanting to win. Rather as they do in boxing when neither competitor wants to hit the other. |

If my maths is correct £104 million pounds spent, plus of course agents fees. Speaks volumes for the quality of those employed by our club in a player recruitment role does it not ? Pretty much the same currently. £70 million spent since the close season and we end up with a massive squad but only two Premiership quality players, Ramsdale and K W P. The remainder are inexperienced youngsters and older experienced underachievers. |

Nick, where did I suggest that Sports Republic didn’t supply the money ? That’s right I didn’t. I stated that collectively our Owners and their Management ( obviously including the Board, C E O and Team Manager ) have not done their job correctly. If they had, after four games we wouldn’t be one off the bottom of the league on goal difference having scored only one goal from a defender. If you disagree that’s fine by me, but I suggest somewhat difficult to justify to the thousands of us at St Mary’s on Saturday who witnessed a team who couldn’t muster one Saints attempt on goal in the second half. £ 70 million well spent? Only in some parallel universe perhaps. |

Spot on Bridders, even more so when you consider that the owners and management appear to be happy to pay proper money and the accompanying wages for Ramsdale. Every man and his dog that have ever watched Premiership football ( particularly yesterday) is now aware that Archer, Diaz and Cornet are Championship players at their very best. Given that Armstrong also failed miserably when last he played in The Premiership, it’s really not difficult to understand why we have no points after four games and the one goal we have scored was from a full back. In summary another colossal error of judgement by those owning and managing our club. |

Not sure who your opticians are DorsetIan but suggest ( purely in fun ) that you seek an appointment for a check up. We have two player's and two players only that are anywhere near Premiership standard, Ramsdale and K W P. Despite our owners and management spending a net £70 million in the last window the remainder are a hotch potch of serial under achievers, the only exception possibly being Dibbling. There is no way that even the fella that manages Man City could get a tune out of our current squad let alone Russell Martin. The only question now is will we be relegated by Christmas ? |
| Forum Reply | What a brilliant performance at 22:39 14 Sep 2024
Nail on the head dirk doone. As I suggested on another thread this evening, we have succeeded in nothing else other than putting together a massive squad of interchangeable non entities whilst wasting £70 million in the last window Apart from Ramsdale and K W P, Russell Martin when selecting a team, may just as well put all the other players names on pieces of paper and get his girlfriend to pick them out of a top hat. It would matter not one iota what she came up with because they are all equally average under performers at Premiership level. |
| Forum Reply | Is Ben Brereton Diaz a Jonah? at 22:17 14 Sep 2024
He’s not a Jonah, just a very average Championship standard player completely out of his depth in The Premiership along with most of his current teammates, |

Sorry 22, I think it’s true. Having said that the fault is Archer’s given that it was an utterly pathetic effort. If their keeper guessed correctly which way to dive he couldn’t fail to save it. Any decent Sunday League parks keeper would have done the same. |

Seriously, what planet are the Club’s owners and management currently inhabiting ? How is it humanly possible to have a net spend of £70 million in a transfer window and end up with so many interchangeable nonentities in the same squad ? Apart from Ramsdale and K W P, Russell Martin when selecting the team, may just as well have put the other players names on pieces of paper and asked his girlfriend to draw them out from a top hat. Utterly baffling as to how the owners and management can be so continually inept and remain in position. |
| Forum Reply | Is Ross Stewart now fit????!!!!???? at 12:33 13 Sep 2024
Armstrong is a Championship player at best as is confirmed by his goal scoring record. When he last played for us in The Premiership he couldn’t hit a cows arse with a banjo yet in the close season we gave him a new three year contract. Yet another decision from the parallel universe currently inhabited by our owners and their management team. |
| Forum Reply | Is Ross Stewart now fit????!!!!???? at 11:38 13 Sep 2024
Even if he were by some miracle fit to play he won’t be selected to start Pat. Have you not remembered that we now play only with defenders, midfielders and wingers with the sole purpose of passing the ball sideways and backwards to obtain more possession than the opposition ? |

I believe that last season you could attempt to purchase up until three hours before kick off. Goodness only knows what the criteria are with the new phone based entry system. One thing is certain though, like most of the club’s communications the fans will be the last to know. |
| Forum Reply | Lallana at 17:35 12 Sep 2024
No, because he’s an injury prone has been who should never be allowed anywhere near the first team. He couldn’t get away from us quick enough yet our owners and management welcomed him back as though he were the Messiah. Almost as ridiculous as paying £10 million for an obviously injury prone Centre Forward from Sunderland. |

Scored goals by the hat full and won next to nothing at both club and international level. Funny game football. |

Two weeks in the parallel universe in which our owners and management currently exist equates to any period of time they want to make it back on planet earth. |

Ron11, genuine question. Given that the last previous post on this subject appears to be as long ago as August 8 is there any particular reason you should comment on September 5 ? I’m not suggesting that you shouldn’t have done it but to me it appears odd to wait so long. |
