KnightOwl, I was made redundant at a similar age and thought that`s it for me. Anyway I applied to Sainsburys for a driving job and got it. I can honestly say they are the best employers I`ve ever worked for and they positively encourage applications from us oldies.Have a look on Sainsburys website for vacancies in your area.Good Luck. |

I think that after the dissolution of the metropolitan councils in the 80/90`s that public bodies were instructed to defer to traditional county boundries. But after all home is where the heart is. Lancashire, Gt. Manchester, who cares, it`s all better than Down Sarf ! |

I deliver online shopping for Sainsburys, on the customer receipts it clearly states Manchester, Lancashire and Salford, Lancashire. Rochdale, always was, always will be Lancashire. |

Remember watching Dave play for Bacup Borough as a kid, stood out as a player and a man, sad loss. |

Got to agree with all the negative comments from all of us that suffered that dross tonight, when did we become a side that hoofs the ball upfield in the forlorn hope that Andrews/Davis gets on the end of it. After both our goals we had 10 min periods where we played like we used to, knocking the ball around and looking for defence splitting passes. Then we go back to negative, aimless, mindless boring playing around at the back with the inevitable outcome. They score ,we look like rabbits caught in the headlights, they score again and we get a draw against a awful team (thanks to Lillis) Since Keith got his 5 year contract it seems complacency has set in throughout the club. |

I lived in Bromley when I worked in Londonshire back in the 80`s . Definitely Kent, like Rochdale is Lancashire. Nice town, good ground if we need a replay (please not!) |

In the mainstand it was much clearer than last season, and I`m a deaf old git. |

Never ever thought I`d say this but today I thought Canavan&McNulty did a resonable impression of a centre back pairing, far from perfect but overall all I think they put in a acceptable performance. Thought the new left back looked promising, Brown at right back less so, but wether he deserves to be the new whipping boy I dont know. |

Just picked mine up,and yep, all very speedy and efficient. Do we not get the vouchers for burgers, pies etc or has that been knocked on the head now the tickets are so cheap ? |

Maths has never been my strong point, but, if the Conservatives needed 326 for a majority but only reached 319 isn`t the 7 seat difference negated by Sinn Fien not taking their seats, so in effect The Tories have a majority ? |

Just to add my feelings of absolute disgust at our beloved Dales behaviour in this case. As suggested Dave Sweetmore must do the the decent thing and move aside in favour of Eden. The club must the offer a grovelling apology to Eden and the fans over their cack handed handling of this matter. |

We did indeed go into our flourishing shopping centres (JOKING) and did buy a few everyday things, if we wanted a "shopping experience" we would go to Manchester. Of course we did not take her up Drake St. It died as a shopping area many years ago. The laughingly called market, no, was not deemed worth a visit. But to reiterate my point, whilst I accept Rochdale has its problems, I`m not blind or stupid, there are positive aspects of our town and constantly deriding the place helps no-one. Also, I did not say Rochdale is Nirvana, simply pointed out that in comparison to some other local town centres its nowhere near as bad as portayed. |

We recently took my sister-in -law to town on a beautiful saturday afternoon. She had never been to Rochdale before and judging off various media reports she had seen/read it is fair to say her expectations were somewhat low. We took her down the Esplanade, had coffee in the town hall, walked over past Gracies` statue and stood on the new bridge viewing the river. To say she was pleasantly surprized that we do not live in some urban slum populated by scrotes and crackheads would be putting it mildly. If we continually portray our town negativly how will we ever change outsiders view of our town. As an aside, I deliver online shopping through-out Greater Manchester/Lancashire and belive me there are many places that make Rochdale look like Nirvana. |
| Forum Reply | Port Vale Attendance Thread at 14:21 3 Apr 2017
On Saturday a guy in the mainstand who is usually pretty reliable told me that the mainstanad was sold out for Tuesday. If correct, I think we may all be pleasantly surprized by the attendance . Hopefully we win in some style and encourage some of the newbies to plump for a season ticket. |

We sit at the Sandy end of the Main Stand, McNulty pulled their forward down just as Conrad looked set to clear the danger. |
| Forum Reply | Match thread : Millwall at 22:22 21 Mar 2017
My long gone dad was a lifelong Millwall fan, but he would have been ashamed of that lot tonight, aided by yet another below standard set of officials they got away with scum-bag football throughout the first half. Also, I dont like to criticise our players as a rule but McNulty`s performance tonight must be in the top ten awful displays by a Dale centre-half in living memory ! |
| Forum Reply | No pitch inspection planned: Game on at 15:09 5 Mar 2017
I,m no expert ( you should see the state of my front lawn) but may we not be being a bit harsh on the new pitch. It`s barely a fortnight since it was laid and has had one football and one rugby match on it plus rain of biblical levels. Will it not be better to judge it after our next home game when it`s had a chance to bed in ? |
