| Your Report | Queens Park Rangers v Portsmouth Your Report added at 20:12:17 Take a winning team, take it to bits in an effort to recreate Barcelona c.1992 using poundshop recruits from weaker and less intense foreign leagues and this is what you get. I wouldn't argue with Marti's selection today. Fox has rarely let us down but he and Chair are short of match practice. Frey never let up and Morgan looks promising. Steve is Steve. Beyond that, this strategy encourages the team to sting like butterflies and float like bees. I don't want Marti's calm. I want aggression and purpose. The Danish lads in particular look like they have just enjoyed a nice time in Christiania. What would I change? Maybe a more seasoned CEO who would be a start. Meanwhile some Novichok might go down well. . |
| Your Report | Queens Park Rangers v Coventry City Your Report added at 20:36:35 Cov seemed better in both boxes. It increasingly looks to me that this a team with a counter atacking game better suited to playing away and that a team with Dozell playing deeper will never control midfield. I would love to see the yards covered stats for him & Sam |
| Your Report | Queens Park Rangers v Sunderland Your Report added at 18:55:53 Thought they fought well but several disappeared later on. Dozell, Paal. Begovic saves were as good as his distribution was bad. I don't usually question the manager's wisdom. But today's subs? |
| Your Report | Queens Park Rangers v Sunderland Your Report added at 08:17:17 No luck and little that they tried came off. Most of them tried. Some of the younger ones, like Tim, just didn't seem to know what to do. The problem has to be a lack of confidence. Much as I like Jimmy's spirit, this is one of those rare moments when I wish we could have the other Dunne back, a Sergeant Major / Leader of Men type. Even Clive Dunne would be an upgrade in leadership terms. Little known fact. Dunne, Clive not Jimmy or Richard, might have played the old fogey, but was actually one of the youngest cast members in Dad's Army. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 14:04:53 I usually find myself agreeing with the MOTM assessments but this time, for me, it was Dominic Ball. Not only did he have an outstanding game but after we went two down he was the one who looked noticeably pumped up for a fightback. We need a bit more of that! |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 19:10:08 No matter what the lineup, the defensive frailities remain. This points to a problem with the system. I don't think some of these players have the concentration necessary to play a system which punishes errors. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 08:53:08 The player ratings suggest that people are getting a bit carried away with this performance and in particular by the 2nd half. In the first half R's looked (understandably) underconfident and shakey. Lots of credit to the centre halves, Mas & Pav for attitude & in particular & Luke for just about everything. But performances from others looked nervous & pedestrian, Ez doesn't seem to know what he is supposed to do and I have now lost faith in Hemed. Is he even trying? |
