Itâs still a good transfer window. Weâre 3 points of playoffs. I know you donât like Nourry though Oh and you missed extensions for Morgan, Chair, Lloyd and Kolli. And Field last year. [Post edited 5 Feb 0:15]

The main issue with Madsen is that we spent the most money on him. However overall, Iâd say our transfer dealings have been successful. Weâre 3 points of playoffs with Chair being out for most of season and no JCS. |

Iâm pretty happy with the squad and the way we are recruiting. Iâd like us to get Jimmy tied down to a 3-4 year deal though. Of our best 11 last season, 3 have left (Begovic, Willock and Dykes/Amstrong), 2 out injured pretty much all season (colback and jcs) and 1 injured & out of form (Chair). I think to sit 14th is good achievement given all those changes. And especially to have done all that without Chair and JCS is remarkable, given their performances last season. |

No one knows whatâs happened behind scenes. Did we offer him a contract? Did he delay signing? No one knows. Itâs pure guess work. Personally I think we offered him a deal and he delayed due to the window. |

Seems reasonable. Can understand why both player and club wonât budge. |

Our accounting period is to April (not December), in line with tax year. |
| Forum Reply | Dunne off? at 13:03 3 Feb 2025
Around that time extensions for Kolli, Morgan and Lloyd wouldnât have been right either. Must have started in December. |

If the club had already offered him a deal or were willing to offer him one, why would they want to delay him signing it given we had this January windows coming up. Given the extensions weâve already had, I would be amazed that if they wanted to keep him, they wouldnât have included him in this round of contract extensions. What were they waiting for? The only party that a delay makes sense for is Dunne. And to be clear, I donât blame him for that. |

Before the subs, I didnât think they looked dangerous apart from set pieces. However, they were the subs I would have made too. Although looking back on it, Field did look the most tired of the 3 midfielders. I also think while he gets criticised for forward passing, Varane is huge loss defensively when heâs not there. |

Challenge on Smyth was clear yellow and then the player who just pushed Nardi over for no reasonâŚ.clear yellow. My son said Chair got thrown to floor at kick off in 2nd half and thatâs why he then did that challenge? In close game, these decisions change the game. |

Not sure defence is really an issue. Think you could play 2 from Edwards, Cook, Morrison and Fox. Doubt there would be much difference. However, Edwards has to start for me. The issue yesterday was we looked tired and we were up against a big physical side. I hope/expect weâll see more energy next weekend. |

Varane is never going to give you much going forward. Thatâs not what heâs there for. Sounds like youâre agreeing that we looked leggy second half then? I would say a couple Of deserved bookings for Wednesday would have changed it a bit I think |

Morgan and Field played most of the last 2 games. They are both about energy and running. Smyth too was decent today but not quite the energy of other games. Hes also played most of last 2 games. All 3 have also played most minutes over last 2 months. Given their style of play, itâs understandable they are knackered. Week off now is vital. |

On I), weâve got 12 from 15 with these 2 in midfield. The issue for me was we were âleggyâ and particularly players like Field and to some extent Morgan, who are both so vital to our play. We do not have a lot of quality but we do have a hard working team. When we are as a team tired and weâre against a physical solid side, we struggle and result is what you saw today. That said, Ronnie puts his header 1 foot the other side itâs 1-0 and we win. |

12 points from 15 this year. We looked tired and leggy. Without energy we are half the side. |

Great at relieving the pressure when he shields ball and they foul him. That Pedro fella was getting done every time. |

100%. You canât just run around like a mad dog unless youâre the centre forward. Got to hold position. We got thumped vs Boro because Morgan was running around like crazy and left Varane by himself. Madsen does deserve criticism for other performances but not tonight. |

I donât know what his stats are but he seems to break up loads of attacks. Gets a leg, head, knee in, slows down the attacks. |

Madsen thought Lloyd was going for it. Lloyd wasnât screaming for lack of effort just normal football âthatâs your ballâ. Madsen was ok, not great. But we canât just say he was rubbish in that game because of other games. |
