Did THB hit one of those long ball clearances from inside his own box instead of playing a stupid sideways short pass as per ‘the brave RM way’? If this is the case, THB will probably have to sit on the naughty step in training and then possibly sit on the naughty bench v Ipswich as well. Such flagrant breaking of ze mantra vill not be tolerated by Herr Rylan! 😡 |

Likewise, not seen anything post match, so that explains it if Archer was under instructions and would also explain why he looked as if he was going to poop himself waiting to take the kick. Decided to seek out a favourite New Forest pub and try and forget about football for the rest of the afternoon. Cab back to reality on its way then train back to London so I will be back just in time to relieve the nightmare on MOTD 🙄 |

I’d rather have seen Dibling take it himself if Diaz wasn’t going to. He’d certainly have made a better fist of it than Archer’s lame effort. Have you seen Archer whilst he was waiting to take the pen? To me, he looked like he was bricking himself. WHY did he take the ball off of Diaz? |

You are quite right, in RM’s eyes he can do no wrong. This devotion RM has to Slack Jack In another profession such as teaching or even in an office environment would be considered as obsessive behaviour and he’d end up in front of a tribunal!! |

I suspect you are right but sincerely hope you are wrong! Surely RM cannot rationally justify including JS in the starting XI, in fact, I’m not even sure I’d find a place for him to come on off the bench given the options we have within the squad now. |

Lallana, if played from the start, would offer something different to what else we have to offer and United are unlikely to have planned for his inclusion. He has the ability to adapt RM’s blinkered insistence on tippy tappy and whilst looking like he is playing TT he will do it in a far more positive way as he will move the ball forwards with pace and accuracy rather than sideways then backwards. Depends who to of course! If RM is ‘brave’ and makes some decent decisions on changes to the starting XI then I think Lallana could do a job for us. I’d start him and if he flags then perhaps he’d be the first sub around the hour mark, after all, it’s not like we don’t have plenty of options.

Griumpy, now you mention it I seem to remember something regarding Kane and Saints but it isn’t that clear a memory so I stand to be corrected if this is wrong. I think the story was we had a good look at him when he was still a kid but despite his talent some genius in our youth set up decided he was too small / slight of build to have much chance of making a pro footballer in the years to come. That may not be 100% correct but I think it went something like thar. |
