Robins left red faced after defeat at the JCS
at 17:45 19 Oct 2024

I think you're correct on all that though I think BG fell out of favour with the rest of the management and the team - though I agree he would have done much better with more backing from RC and more control of the team with no interference from the others which I can only assume destabilised the team.

Unfortunately the Cowleys need to go and we need someone who will take charge and insist on better players and isn't afraid to drop or move non performers on instead of a yes man. We do not want a repeat of the disastrous run last season that ME took us down.

I think the only chance we have of beating Chesterfield is if 3 pigs fly past my window and/or the whole Chesterfield team go down with food poisoning.

The fact is we just haven't got enough quality up front - Taylor is ok on his day but not consistent enough and we can't really rely on him. Tovide likewise and his temper can cause us problems. Hopper scores possibly once in a blue moon and none of our management or ownership seem to understand why and never invest in the team properly..

Also our issues in defence have not been rectified.

At the very least we urgently need to invest in a consistent goalscorer or 2 in the next transfer window and pack Jay and Hopper off on loan to an NL club before releasing them.

IMO the Cowleys can split the taxi fare between them. Time for them to go and RC needs to have one long hard look at how he's running the club.

Cowley needs to turn this shitshow round quickly or leave. Not good enough.

Not a great result, going 3-1 up and only drawing against 10 men - we need to be more ruthless though we are finding the net now.

But we are on 6 points and a number of teams look in far worse shape than us atm.

I am thinking half full rather than half empty at the moment but I wouldn't write our season off after 6 games just yet. Hopefully LT and ST will become regular goal scorers for us - we need them to as the defence still seems to be gelling and DC needs to keep the players likely to win us matches on the pitch.

Accrington Stanley, who are they - exactly

If we're playing badly and getting a draw that is kind of progress - clouds & silver linings and all that. It would be much better if we were playing badly and winning though.

As far as the racist language goes, that will be recorded on the clubs cctv (if indeed they have any) and hopefully the perps will be looking at a conviction and a long ban from grounds.

We need to really sign another defender and bring in another striker if LT isn't playing regularly soon.

They should be wearing sombreros. We should have had a penalty for handball but another incompetent ref thought otherwise

Great result today, if we keep playing like that we should be solidly in the top half maybe even the playoffs perhaps?

It is a shame but he never really showed enough form to be a regular forst team player. Perhaps the Cowleys are planning to bring in another new striker to partner Lyle Taylor up front? As for jay he really does need to rediscover his old form if he is to push for a first team place, if not then we'll likely be aiming to replace him as well though I feel he needs a proper crack at it.

Perhaps he should be reported to the FA or EFL? I hope the AFCW cheats are happy with their 3 points.

The referee obv was either bought by AFCW or is completely incompetent at refereeing at this level - I wouldn't even put him in charge of the under 11s.

Well David Beckham played for Preston on loan for a few matches when they were in the old third division (now League 2) so it would make sense & get him some experience if he is currently down the pecking order there.

I think DC has at the moment done whats needed to be done in terms of giving the team a decent backbone - the main thing we lacked last season which led to us finishing where we did. BG made the club into a more attacking unit but we simply lacked the quality to get it forward and lack of backbone left us open. If Joe Taylor had much better support from the other players and the club a decent backbone I think we would have been a lot higher up.

ME just appeared follow orders from above and aside from promising early results never really had a proper game plan as such

Also we have done our business early this time which will settle the team and not left it late like last summer which didn't help matters.

Who comes in next and whether NC stays or moves on we will just have to wait & see but I think we're in a better position than last season and at the very least we appear much more organised. Also I think more quality players will arrive soon though I think DC prefers bringing in permanent signings than loanees though he will bring the latter if/when he feels that he has to.
