One of my customers has one of these dogs and he is a lovely good natured lump, but in no way shape or form would I have one around children.

The things as big as a small horse

What i'm finding strange about this case is yesterday the dog was a bull mastiff (pictured on the news) Today it's a bull dog (also pictured on the news)..yet to me it doesn't look like a bull dog.

Yesterday the little girl was asleep and the dog attacked. Today she was playing on the floor. I don't understand the discrepancies in the story. I know it makes little difference, a child lost it's life but how is the story changing so much?
The dog pictured that did the attack looks alot like a pitbull /staffy type of dog to me

I think that might be an American Bulldog.

Dogs around children in any circumstance is a no for me, hate the things. Big bruisers like that? Even without prejudice you've gotta be a head case to allow that. Any dog can turn I've seen it happen first hand. And trust me "she'd never hurt a fly this one..."

The first dog in the pic is a French mastiff usually come in around 8 to ten stone sometimes more , great dogs and as I said I've got 3 round my way all lovely dogs and a lot of the locals are shittttt scared of them my only concern is the slobber on the shoes.

Can't believe any reputable rescue society would rehome another dog to a flat when there's already a large dog living there

You really don't get it do you, let me break it down into small chunks for you.

(A) family has a dog and then they have a baby, dog gets jealous and attacks the baby / child

(B) family brings pet into strange house dog attacks baby/ child

Do you see what the common denominator is, dog attacks. I'm yet to read a case where the dog in (a) or (b) was attacked and killed by a baby / child.Because of the common denominator I thought it was safer to get the dog re homed .

And for your info the dog was not 'dumped' , you really should look into and read up about dog trusts before putting such bollox in writing.

I volunteer at a dog rescue (a staffie and terrier rescue) so I see first hand the sadness caused to our four legged friends by people who dump dogs just because they have children (and it happes a lot!). I maintain that it's a disgrace, and I hope someone kicks you out of your home when circumstances change.
