For anyone interested the club have confirmed that the coach to Portsmouth on Saturday will definitely be running.

Looking forward to this one and the chance to extend our unbeaten run.

Not definitely

This condition applies:

"As always, we ask supporters who do wish to travel to book as soon as possible, so we can make an informed on decision on whether or not the coach will run."

The PORTSMOUTH coach is definitely running. From the OS -
'We can confirm that we WILL be running a supporters coach to Fratton Park for this Saturday's Sky Bet League Two fixture v Portsmouth (October 5th).

The statement
'As always, we ask supporters who do wish to travel to book as soon as possible, so we can make an informed on decision on whether or not the coach will run.'
is referring to the PORT VALE coach.

On a technical note, the Port Vale match next Tuesday is not on the fixture list on this site.....personally I use this site details for planning my attendances rather than the OS.

IMO the emphasis on the "WILL be running... to Portsmouth" is simply to indicate that a coach WILL be bookable and WILL run, providing enough supporters book a seat

Can you honestly say that if 3 seats are booked it WILL still run? If you're WILLing to take that risk, all well and good, and I congratulate the club on financing a huge loss if that transpires

It depends on your definition of 'running', as in 'We can confirm that we WILL be running a supporters coach....'

My definition is that the coach will be going. If they meant taking bookings, I feel that is what they would have said.

The bit about 'As always, we ask supporters who do wish to travel to book as soon as possible, so we can make an informed on decision on whether or not the coach will run.' comes at the end of the section about the Port Vale coach. Also note - 'coach' singular, not plural.

Just to be sure, I have spoken to Leighanne, who confirms that the coach WILL be going to Portsmouth.

Re the Port Vale fixture not appearing on the OS, it is on the OS on my computer - under Fixtures and Results; there is a mistake, though - the heading for the 2013/2014 fixtures hasn't been changed from 2011/2012. The fixture is also included under 'Fixtures List'.

Will

A) More Dale fans head to Portsmouth to watch Dale or
B) More Bury fans head to Portsmouth to watch Bury in a couple of weeks?*

*on free coaches laid on by Darren Day.

Just spoke to my dad and the coach will definitely be running on Saturday and will not be cancelled, on other occasions were the coach has been cancelled this has been down to bookings being very low (2 or 3). He advises that if you wish to use this service please book as early as you can, this will help them make any changes to the size of coach needed etc.

Surely better questions are:

Will
A) More Dale fans want to head to Portsmouth to watch Dale or
B) More bury fans want to head to Portsmouth to watch bury, free coaches or not?

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Well done for clarifying what was in doubt - and make no mistake - it was in doubt.

The bit about: 'As always, we ask supporters who do wish to travel to book as soon as possible, so we can make an informed on decision on whether or not the coach will run.' wouldn't necessarily have been posted after both the Portsmouth info and the Port Vale info, but once at the end of the article.

I've no gripe whatsoever on this matter, and I haven't used a supporters coach since the petrol shortage c. 2000 for the midweek trip to York. I would hate for anyone to have booked, only to then discover they had to make alternative arrangements.

As already said, well done for clarifying with Leighanne.

As stated previously, if it applied to both, it would have said 'coaches' - plural.
