Cricket! on 18:28 - Jun 19 with 963 views | BlackCrowe | Just back. Stroll in the park. Bit pissed though. Second to last over stood up to stretch, forgot that my seat was on retracting spring and promptly sat on the floor at full pelt. Much to the amusement/disdain of several hundred around. Bruised but smiling.

If it's a complete washout, the trophy is shared. It happened a few years ago by all accounts.

Aaagh no. Dragon boat racing at Kingston on the Sunday. Going Thurs-Sat though. (assume you mean Lords). Conceivable I may have a spare for Saturday if you or any LFW-er is interested (NOT a given yet).

Cricket! on 12:03 - Jun 19 by QPR_John | Now I admit I am no expert at the laws of cricket so this may be obvious to some but humour me. If a legal ball hits the wicket then it is out regardless of where the ball pitched. LBW means that you cannot use your body to protect the wicket so why does LBW depend on where the ball pitches. |
I think the point is that you are not allowed to protect the wicket with your body. So, if the ball pitches outside the wicket, then you are not protecting the wicket, if you see what I mean. If you could get lbw outside the wicket, then bowlers would have an incentive to bowl at the legs, which is not what we would want.
