Ben Haim official on 12:30 - Jan 4 with 6292 views | adhoc_qpr | Squad player, short term contract, covers a couple of positions and loads of prem experience. Why bother moaning? And don't start about him being a money grabber at Pompey either. If your employer asked you to forego salary you've rightfully earned because they cocked up their finances, while simultaneously looking to recruit new staff to do your job - i'm pretty sure you'd tell them to get stuffed as well.

Ben Haim official on 12:48 - Jan 4 with 6226 views | Jamie | Horrendous footballer. Last time he was in the PL he couldn't get into the rock bottom West Ham team who cancelled his loan and got into dispute with Pompey who were trying to force them to keep him whilst WH tried to force them to take him back. The fact that Harry is looking at big name midfielders and strikers whilst signing a finished mate to slot into our oh-so-secure defence is terrifying.

Not exactly a signing to get the juices flowing, however surely we have learnt to give players a chance before writing them off. Who would have thought that Granero and Hoilett would have flopped whilst Nelson done so well.
Ben Haim official on 12:53 - Jan 4 with 6179 views | rosseeles | Like the majority are saying i dont see any issue here, a contract for a few months, so very short term, gives us cover for the CB positions which we desperatly need, so what is the problem. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Ben Haim official on 12:59 - Jan 4 with 6114 views | CamberleyR | A few years ago now but Mourinho once considered him good enough to sign him for the scum. As with a lot of players who have signed for them and didn't play very much their careers stalled.

The difference is that Nelsen was playing at Spurs last season and came in strictly as cover before being forced to start every game. Ben-Haim hadn't played a match in 10 months (at relegated Pompey), and last played in the PL 2 years ago in a 5-0 defeat. Highly doubt this is cover. Ben-Haim & Nelsen IMO.

He was good for Bolton and nobody else, but seemed to get plenty of moves to high profile teams, is his agent, sorry "Superagent" Pini Zahavi ? Anton Ferdinand & Ben Haim is potentially the worst Centre Back pairing in Premier League History!
Ben Haim official on 13:04 - Jan 4 with 6063 views | Neil_SI | He hasn't played for a while now, but at least he's spent six weeks training with the squad and has had an opportunity to get to know them. That will help him get up to speed and they should give him some minutes against West Brom to accelerate that process even further. We're so short of players in defensive areas that it's important to get one or two more bodies in there. The deal is a sensible one too, so no complaints as it works for both parties. He'll need to impress in order to win another contract in the summer, whether that's with us or somebody else, so there's a lot at stake for him here.
Ben Haim official on 13:05 - Jan 4 with 6052 views | Gloucs_R | QPR sign Messi Jamie - "he hasnt scored in enough games this season to warrant his stardom, lets be honest, he has only scored 195 goals in 231 games so I dont see what the fuss is all about. In addition, La Liga is over rated and most decent strikers could score as many as he gets"

That's not exactly true is it though? His loan expired and there was a dispute between Pompey and West Ham over who should pay him and whether there was a clause which dictated West Ham should complete a permanent purchase? Thread about it here on a West Ham forum where no one particularly slates his playing ability: http://www.westhamfreeforum.com/tal-ben-haim-in-contract-dispute-with-west-ham-t Not saying he's a great signing either, but he can sit on the bench instead of Ferdinand and it makes no difference to me and it's no big risk either.
Ben Haim official on 13:10 - Jan 4 with 6014 views | N12Hoop | Short term deal so little risk financially. My main concern is that we like signing players who have barely played in years and it shows: SWP, Onuhua and now Ben Haim. Surely we need players who are up to speed and don;t need a long period of adjustment. Still good luck to the bloke. Met him and his wife last year and they seemed a really nice down to earth couple.
