Bit ironic that the team we beat to secure promotion, should be the same team that witnesses our return to League Two. John Coleman will be happy with that, and it could have been a lot worse.

That was always likely given we are one of York's closest opponents, geographically. EDIT: I reckon 92/93 was the last time we started and finished at home. Lost 3-2 to Halifax in August Defeated Chesterfield 2-1 in May [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

Perhaps I'm being pessimistic, but I think that's a tough opening for us, Northampton will be sorted out by Boothroyd over the summer and there's no way they'll have a season like the last. Chesterfield have already started to recruit well and I think they'll be the strongest of the relegated teams this season coming. Torquay away is never easy, but given that they're as strong as they've been for some time, it will be all the tougher. I worry some fellow Daleys will be expecting too much from these games.

Fixtures 2012-13 on 10:43 - Jun 18 with 3803 views | D_Alien | Have to say, apart from York, Fleetwood, Accy & (grrrr!) Bradford, that's a pretty drab-looking fixture list. I guess it's the reverse feeling to how trips to Southampton, Sheffield Wednesday & Huddersfield felt when the list came out two years ago.

I cant see Bootheroyd pulling up too many trees there, its a level he's not used to, he hasnt exactly done brilliant since he came in, given his expectations and reputation, however I do agree they wont be as bad as last season and I can see them around mid table. Torquay may be reaching their peak, they are at the same level when we left L2, but still there, this could be the last chance for many of their players, I would expect them to hang around the playoffs once again though. Chesterfields signings look decent on paper, I rate Sheridan I think he's a good manager and I would expect them again to be pushing the playoffs. In L2 you never know whos going to be challenging the top 3, it could be anyone, no one predicted the likes of Cheltenham/Crewe to do as well last season, why not us, must believe:)

Not often you get decent New Years Day games these days. Or any New Years Day games for that matter.

just a bit of a shame to see some of the more "local" or "big crowd" games being given a tuesday slot, not that we can do anything about it.... a club like ours depends on these games to bring in more money thru the gates....braford at home on a saturday would probably totally outshine the numbers we would get on a tuesday night.....

Don't think we've played them on a Saturday at Spotland yet. And they always fill the whole stand. Even when they don't.
