Robert Green Our new Keeper? 11:03 - May 30 with 7172 views | JonDoeman | Apparently we're in talks & Fat Sam is lining up Jussi from Bolton to replace. Never rated Green, even before he threw that one in .

Albion were keen to take the free agent from Bolton as West Ham awaited their play-off fate but their failure to secure a manager quickly has opened the door again for Sam Allardyce. Current number one Robert Green is struggling to reach an agreement over a new contract after wanting a minimum of £45,000-per-week. Allardyce last week completed the signing of Portsmouth keeper Stephen Henderson on a three-year-deal. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2151819/Jussi-Jaaskelainen-wan

Robert Green Our new Keeper? on 11:07 - May 30 with 5259 views | Metallica_Hoop | I'd rather have a fit Paddy Kenny. Given or robinson though....Pass that arm I'll bite it off.

Robert Green Our new Keeper? on 11:19 - May 30 with 5205 views | WestbourneR | Don't rate Foster and Robinson is a flapper on crosses - he looks good for a bad team like Blackburn cos he gets peppered. But Green is the worst of the lot. It seems WBA and West Ham don't think Jussi is so past it after all. Considering we haven't seen him play for a while it might just be that he is still up to it. We should do everything we can to get Given.

Foster would also be my first choice. He shows good presence something Green lacks. Green doesn't come up in my first 10 choices.
Robert Green Our new Keeper? on 11:21 - May 30 with 5191 views | JonDoeman | Hopefully he'll get a better offer; ================================= @WHUFC_News Malaga, QPR and Spurs are all reportedly interested in West Ham goalkeeper Robert Green, as the Hammers aim to renew his contract #WHU #QPR

Robert Green Our new Keeper? on 11:22 - May 30 with 5181 views | adhoc_qpr | I think Green's a decent enough keeper (albeit prone to the odd howler) but there are lots of better keepers on the market this summer. Given, Foster, Robinson, Gomes even, Gordon, Butland who the media is raving about etc etc. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Good point, Foster would be the better long term prospect but not much to choose between him and Green IMHO.
Robert Green Our new Keeper? on 11:24 - May 30 with 5171 views | DesertBoot | Foster would be my number one choice. They weren't falling over themselves for Green when the Hammers were relegated.

Foster is far better than Green IMO. Never really been a big fan of Green.
Robert Green Our new Keeper? on 11:46 - May 30 with 5089 views | Toast_R | Green is unforgiven as far as I'm concerned. I believe he is to blame for the overall abjectness in South Africa. For the moment he did that, we went to pieces.
Robert Green Our new Keeper? on 11:48 - May 30 with 5079 views | WestbourneR | I agree. We scored a cracking first goal against the States and had shut them out completely. Also Green has an irritatingly high opinion of his own ability. [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

Robert Green Our new Keeper? on 11:51 - May 30 with 5066 views | number_10 | Well we have enough ex keepers on the coaching staff so you would like to think they could recognise a good one. Although I share the general reservations and personally think Robinson is the best of the names mentioned one man defence at blackburn whenever i watched them.
Robert Green Our new Keeper? on 12:14 - May 30 with 4959 views | Ferdy | Green isnt too bad had a good season for the hammers. My preference in order: Foster (he wont sign as will involve a decent transfer fee) Given (he wont sign due to his age and probably high wage) Green (Out of contract not too old) If we lose out on Green I expect us to either get in a loan or offer paddy a short deal.
Robert Green Our new Keeper? on 12:44 - May 30 with 4855 views | YorkRanger | What about the ginger lad at Bolton....
Robert Green Our new Keeper? on 13:13 - May 30 with 4783 views | bigbaddean | I'd take Foster every time. I suspect we'll end up with Green, as wages would be similar, but no transfer fee, allowing us to strengthen in other areas....

oh god, we were crap and we would have been crap whether he had let that in or not. I thought Capello was all right, but it was clear to everyone that Joe Hart should have been our number one keeper already by that point. He was ready 2 months later so god knows why he wasn't ready for the tournament. I'd take Foster like a shot. He'll only get better.

Robert Green Our new Keeper? on 15:48 - May 30 with 4524 views | stansleftfoot | It's strange, but having uttered the words that we would only let players go if we could improve on our current squad, we then go and look at Green who is statistically, i think, as only as good as Kenny when fit. Given a equal measure of fitness, Green will make 5 or 6 big goal causing errors a season and has done his whole career....i'd say even with carrying an injury for most of last year Paddy may have done the same, possibly less... Green is nervous, makes players nervous and makes me nervous...not sure he improves us, i should think Anton is nervous just thinking about it...
