I didn't see it on there either though?

Am preparing myself for an old school audio experience at this point.

Ok ignore me - they've got it on there under continental time - appropriately glamorous.

Currently showing snowboarding - gripping stuff.

Madsen's inclusion makes my heart sink, and though it would be so QPR to see him hit the winner, it won't happen. Quite honestly, Marti needs a slap for that decision - he obviously doesn't trust to play him in the Champ, but the Cup is fine, because 'of course'. If there could be a more textbook case of a player not earning his place, he'd be it. If I were Morgan, I'd also be mightily pissed. It's a decent team otherwise, but this puts a real crimp in it, as basically it means we play with 10 men again.

Foxes 4 Rs 0. Knife through butter, I'm afraid (see above).

Trying to find a silver lining in this, or any kind of positive spin, such as Morgan is still young and we need to manage his minutes to avoid injury, and that Madsen may actually do better against less brutal premier league teams than championship….but really I’m as disheartened as you

Just out of interest, when did this concept of 'managing players' minutes' become a thing, who brought it in, and what was their agenda in doing so? Can anyone who engages in critical thinking here shed some light?

I do not get what you negatives are moaning about!!!!

New GK......fair play, he needs experience.
Back 4......fair enough, Edwards needs games and so does JCS - they need to be fit and are both decent players.
Midfield....Smyth looks knackered and got a knock on Monday so rested, Field, Varane & Chair all playing. Madsen needs to be played in these type of matches and Morgan needed a rest. No issues.
Kolli up front to replace Frey - fair enough.

What are all the moans about??? Don't write us off.

I thought Marti was going to take this seriously? Edwards and JCS starting - never played together. Madsen, the weakest pound-for-pound player we have. Elbow's being called OTT but that's a weak team to play v the Foxes in my book.

[Post edited 11 Jan 13:35]

We'll see. JCS and Edwards will have the pace to deal with Vardy potentially. I don't think it is a bad team. Lots on the bench. I perhaps would have gone 4-4-2 with Kolli and Lloyd up front and perhaps held the midfield with Varane and Field. But Madsen needs minutes if he's ever going to prove anything.

Never knowingly right.

I remember the 2-1 loss at Leeds. Went with a Derby mate. Only time I was scared at a match. God knows what would have happened if the results,t went the other way.

We were kept in for 40 minutes after. When they did let us out the song was "Keep us in keep us in"!
Justice was that Leeds list to Coventry in SF.

I went to that game too. Had to duck under the seat as the coins started flying. At the end there was a pitch invasion from 3 sides of the ground. I don’t think the Leeds massive wanted to say ‘hard luck chaps’. Suddenly a squad of coppers appeared from nowhere and chased them all away. That was a scary moment. We were kept in for a LONG time. I think it was their biggest crowd for years. Was certainly loud when their winning goal went in.

No complaints from me about the team selection.
Dunne, Smyth need a rest; Frey far and away our most important striker; and Morgan who's had a lot of minutes for an 18yo.
All are on bench, so can be used if needed.

It's all about 'loading' or concepts such as that I think.

I'd google:

'loading, modern footballers, oxygen levels, decaying century, plasma transfer, mereological nihilism'

Go from there.

I'd get resting players if we had a midweek match coming up, but we don't. A week till our next fixture. It's the same old shenanigans, playing an experimental team is not taking the cup seriously.

I've seen enough with Madsen, and the upsetting thing is (as one or two had noted here) Marti has recently made it clear he has too, which is why he benched him (and has scarely subbed him on since). The black-and-white poster who complains about 'negativity' (as if all fan love, or any love, has to be relentlessly 'positive') should think more, I suggest, about what he means by 'these types of games'. They are professional football games. In which the players and staff are paid to compete. With a Wembley cup at the end of them, and considerable cash/prestige along the way. A trophy which we nearly (and should have) won! What part of that doesn't s/he get, I'm wondering.

I can use Google, sure, but my questions were a bit more precise, and it's the sort of thing the brighter sparks here might know about, I was thinking. My underlying point was/is it that it's worrying to me when people start trotting out these types of managment-type phrases as if they were self-evidently valid, timeless, and cast no shadow. They aren't, and they do.
