Chris Hoy 08:44 - Oct 20 with 1401 views | PlanetHonneywood | To put things into perspective: Just heart wrenching to read his cancer is terminal, and he has a few years to live. As bad as that is, around the time of his diagnosis, his wife discovered she has MS. They have two children that must be planned for! Much strength to them all and hopefully, some break through might be found for him.

Chris Hoy on 11:07 - Oct 20 with 1191 views | stowmarketrange | I received a text message after yesterday’s game that my brother-in-law lost his long battle against cancer some time during the afternoon. He has been having chemotherapy and other treatment for over 3 years. It certainly made yesterday’s result seem a lot less important than it felt at the final whistle. Good luck to everyone fighting this horrible disease and their families who also suffer the consequences of cancer.
Chris Hoy on 11:28 - Oct 20 with 1154 views | w7r | I was saddened and shocked to read this about Chris Hoy, and the doubling of awful news with his wife’s condition, those poor kids. My thoughts are with the Hoy family. This has really hit home, an absolute specimen of an athlete still in his prime and there’s little that can be done. Lost my old man in April, same diagnosis as Sir Chris, metastatic prostate, that was in 2020, he lasted four years as the oncologist had predicted - he was 81, had been regularly running half marathons up until 2019. This happening to a man still in his 40’s seems unbelievably cruel to him, and all those in his life. [Post edited 21 Oct 14:23]
