I just found this lot. Havana 3am. Had a minor hit with the song below which is a great mix of surf, rockabilly and that sort of Clash reggae sound.

Also, that's Paul Simenon on bass.

And... XC-NN. This band had a little bit of notoriety in the early 90s. That's Tim Bricheno on guitar, he was in All About Eve. This is a GREAT song though and the singer absolute kills on it. What a great performance. They should have been bigger.

Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

Although not a lesser-known group, I have to say, I've investigated these lot the last few weeks and feel despite their instant success, they have some great tunes. Their Congratulations album is a brilliant album, but I really dig this tune. Has a great 80s vibe with a psychedelic edge. I think they're a great modern group who really push boundaries and have a good melodic grasp compared to other bands of their ilk like Tame Impala. MGMT are one of the best of the 2010'/20's era

Lesser known music is right in my wheel house. From the 70's, of course.

When you reach the place beyond thoughts, the only thing you'll find is love and the only purpose of life becomes to ease the suffering of others.

This thread has just sent me down a rabbit hole but I’ve emerged unscathed with a band called ‘McCarthy’.

They were formed in deepest darkest Barking in the 80’s under the influence of The Sex Pistols, The Clash and The Buzzcocks. Their debut album ‘I am a Wallet’ was rated by James Dean Bradfield as his top British album of all time. So there!

Also that’s Tim Gane on guitar.

80s indie is a rabbit hole you can lose yourself in. I think personally some of the best music both this side and the other side of the atlantic came out of the 1980s. I think it equals the 60s in some respect.

Bit of a cheat because they're legendary in their own right, but as early uk hip hop pioneers Taskforce deserve so much more recognition from people who are in to hip hop today.
