Generally a good half from us I thought. Ipswich started well and had a couple of clear chances but we settled nicely and began to put them under pressure mainly through Armstrong's pace and strength and Smyth's quick thinking down the right. 5 shots, two on target (does Armstrong's shot that hit the inside of both posts count as on target?). A couple of observations: Chair and Willock not really getting into positions to hurt Ipswich (yet). Willock fought hard, Luongo was hanging off his shirt for most of that half. We are conceding a lot of possession to Ipswich in the centre of the park and it worries me that both Field and Dozzell are sitting so deep. Would like to see at least one of them press higher up the pitch. Paal did his trick of getting caught far too central once or twice but otherwise solid. Ipswich obviously a very good side but they're not world beaters, this is the Championship and if we can get in front I fancy our chances second half.

Good half. Don’t concede early in the second and we could get a result

So far, so good.
Pity Chair couldn't get his 2 efforts on target. I've got him as 1st scorer!

They've had half chances but nothing on target.

The Willock haters have gone quiet.

How Strange ??

Very encouraging half.

We definitely edging it so far and unlucky to not be in front.

And the defence looks solid too.

Ipswich may have had more shots but they mostly weak efforts from long range.

I think if Armstrong starts when fit, Dykes would be coming on after 60 minutes as he does tire but maybe today he won't tire.

Hope we finally get a couple of goals in the loft end this half and Armstrong gets one. The loft would erupt.

But yes just as impressive is our solid defence so far.

Begovic also very solid.

Encouraging half.

Willock taken off 😉🫡

Does Smythe go up top and colback slip into same formation or are we going 3-5-2?

I know we've long since stopped believing the Party line regarding injuries but maybe this is managing Willock's fitness after his knock?

Was just going to say the same thing. Oddly passive and deep.

Oh my, what a run from Sinclair. So unlucky. If he could have got his head up at the last second Chair was free for a tap in.

And how on earth have we not scored. Kakay from 1 yard out off balance somehow the ball skews wide.

Ipswich go right down the other end dangerous cross is skied away by a tracking back Dozzell.

Now Field down potentially injured. And about to be booked.

Things have woken up a bit!

Sounds as if we're fatigued at the hour mark again.

Yep, we're tiring again on the hour mark, sitting way too deep and not closing down.

Nobody wants Willock to do badly. Its surely not surprising that people critical of his performances and effort aren't making those comments today because his effort and performance today have clearly been much better. Good! Let's hope that continues. I wasn't sure there was a way back for him, delighted to say that after today, I feel more optimistic that there is. Let's start him again next game, let's have more of the same.

Agree with your bigger point that it's been much better, and against a pretty strong team for this division who are high on form and confidence. Light years away from Watford.

Since half-time at Watford, we have been pretty solid defensively. What a massive improvement from last year
