Boro player connections on 09:52 - Aug 4 with 1878 views | DannyPaddox | John O’Rourke. Boro goal-getter in Div 3 when they were promoted as runners-up with us as Champions in 66/67. Joined us in 1971. 12 goals in 34 games over 3 years suggests he may have either had injuries, been overshadowed by more glamorous team mates, or both. A better than 1 in 3 goalscoring ratio would make him a legend these days. [Post edited 4 Aug 2022 9:53]

Boro player connections on 19:59 - Aug 4 with 1331 views | CamberleyR | Alan Comfort. Good things were predicted when he signed for us as a schoolboy. Never made the first team just the reserves. He came from Aldershot near me and was also in the same year at school as me so my school Collingwood played his school, Heron Wood, in school matches. At school level he was a class apart and you could tell he'd probably play professionally in the future. I also played against him when my youth team once played Farnborough Town youth who he played for. After spending four years with us he was released and picked up by Cambridge United where he played a couple of years before moving to Leyton Orient where he had his best spell. It was from there he went to Boro where he picked up a knee injury which finished his career at 25. He then trained as a vicar and ultimately went back to Leyton Orient as their chaplain for 20 years.

Saw him play for Orient very good technically a bit lightweight maybe should have asked for more Steak and Chips than Fish and Bread
