Disappointed is the word that I’ve used several times this afternoon. Disappointed because I’d set off first of all but I don’t blame the current hierarchy at the club. I didn’t have an inkling that the game might be off but, having seen the surface water on the motorway it was obvious that it had tipped it down all morning. And, unlike the Barrow game, there was no indication in the weather forecast that the rain would have relented as the day wore on. Disappointed because the game will now be rescheduled for a Tuesday night which makes it difficult for me to attend due to work commitments and travel issues. Disappointed because, although the heavens have opened today and I know how wet a place Rochdale can be, I don’t seem to think that we have had a particularly wet three or four weeks leading up to today? Disappointed most of all though because I believed that we had this new all signing, all dancing whistles and bells super pitch built to withstand a day’s rain?
Thinking there should be a statement made about the pitch. The vast sum of money spent by the previous board (CEO) was supposed to prevent postponements like yesterday. I'd like to know the truth about what work took actually place, ie what we don't see in the pictures. Whether there were any guarantees in place and if so are the club seeking compensation.
