Credit has to be given to Mick McCarthy, not everyone's cup of tea, but certainly overachieves with very average sides. Big mistake of Ireland to let him go early.

Huge mistake of Ireland to ever employ him, you surely mean?
Very good Championship manager, though, even if his teams play bogball.

The change will also mean lots more clubs will take the risk of a new manager. Going from 6 defeats to 7th... Bristol the 1st but surely there will be more sackings and parachuting in of the usual Pulis, Allardyce types

If Ireland were an English league team, they'd be league one. Mick got us to the play offs and Kenny (who can't buy a win) royally effed it up. Don't understand the Mick McCarthy hate. Play to a system your players can play to...and that's what he did.

Different types of mediocre so far, Jogo.
I don't hate McCarthy. I just think he's a million miles off International class, and he's proven it twice.

Even Trappatoni knew we couldn't play football and win.
I think he did a slightly better job in his second attempt to be fair, but still poor. First time 'round he was a novice with a great squad and it showed.
Anyway, let's postpone maybe. Rangers tonight, and as I say I have no animosity to the man.
