The Pitch 19:59 - Jan 22 with 53113 views | kiwidale | This time last year a decision was made to dig up the pitch and lay a new one it seemed at the time a bold move but a proactive one. Today its becoming apparent the pitch is a write off or is it? no communication from the club leads to speculation. Ive only seen the pics you have seen it close up so is it worse than last year? is it worse than it looks or better than it seems? will it be played on again? [Post edited 22 Jan 2018 20:01]

The Pitch on 16:56 - Jan 31 with 4493 views | Lee_Bullet | Seems like we have hired the MacLeod pitch cover from Sports & Stadia recently used at Fleetwood to get their fa cup tie on against Leicester. There was a big lorry being unloaded at the ground earlier. Won’t have come cheap so at the least the club are doing something to keep the rain off so they can carry out the required works before Tuesday nights game.

If so, that’s great news and a really good move by the club. Hopefully there will be an update soon via the OS, as they said they’d do on Monday.

The Pitch on 19:02 - Jan 31 with 4054 views | 49thseason | Looks like its just an elevated rain cover with heat, no room to work underneath it so unless the drill and fill has been done today, I cant see it happening until after the replay. Also if it pisses down for the next 6 days, where will all the water run off to? If it only runs off to the side of the pitch, the area at the corner by the main stand / Sandy Lane will be no better off as it always seems to get saturated first. Long term, the pitch needs to be raised a foot so that water can run off at a lower level and get away and not simply be at the same water level as the rest of the ground alternatively I guess they could dig a ditch around it and get the same effect.

Maybe they will make sure no more rain falls on the pitch and try and suck the water off with some sort of suction hose? Then at least the surface will be dry when we next get a fine day to do the drill and fill?

Friday is supposed to be dry and sunny all day, maybe they will drill and fill on that day. Fingers crossed....

Presume we could n't afford to purchase that sort of tech for our own use? Suspect hiring it is expensive.......just hope we get the job done and we save our own bacon.
