Don't talk wet.

We looked doomed 2 seasons on the trot with him in the side. We would still look doomed if he was here, he left as he knew we were on borrowed time.

If you really think he is worth £150m then I really don't know what to say. Leroy Fer scored today too.

There was always a glimmer of hope when he was here though. There isn’t at the moment.

Yes and we finally found a manager that could make us compact and use the set piece game and then we sell him !!

Siggy as i think most know, would've been critical to clements way of playing this season, to sell him and not replace will more than likely cost us our prem status which will be around £150 m .

He actually played a huge part in keeping us up the last 2/3 seasons, again because the club keep selling assests and not replacing.
Once you sell all the family silver then its game over.

Bit of a strawman that, and it came much later.

He actually said Siggy was our weak link and that we had to sell him and Llorente in January in order to get our free flowing football back.

Of course, had we done that we'd be in the Championship now (and likely struggling there too).

...and he was correct. How on earth could we get free flowing football with Gylfi and Llorente in our side? We had to sell in order to get back to how we were, the Swansea way, something Rangel has recently spoke about.

Weak link is a bit strong, but certainly the catalyst for the way we were playing as his strengths are the opposite of what we were all about.

The selling was not the issue, the incorrect players sourced was the problem. As we saw today the implementation of wingers makes a big difference and we had our best performance of the season tonight.

To sell them and buy a load of central players was the mistake. Not selling players that had to be sold. One refused to play for us the other had a matter of months left on his contract.

I've seen some bollocks on here, but the Res and E20 take the biscuit.

But it was a system that served us so well. We stayed u comfortably before he was here a lot of people seem to forget.

It was a succession plan. He had to go. What would happen if we forced him to stay and he stayed against his will until his contract ran out? What then? We just resign ourselves to relegation with no money to invest in the side?

He had to go. Simple as that and £45m was top, top whack.

Tell you something for nothing. Any Swans supporter whose first reaction to that is to laugh needs to have a think about their priorities.

I mean really?

Well exactly.

It’s sad that we seem to have posters more concerned about point scoring on here than the shambles we have become.

Gylfi is a fabulous player who scores brilliant goals, he is a joy to watch, unfortunately but predictably he did it against us tonight, scoring what was effectively the winning goal to put them ahead.

Great strike, a thing of beauty, nobody could argue with that.

Similarly nobody could argue with the rest of his contribution tonight, average at best.

Thought we did well tonight but by jack the luck is against us and that's a big worry. Clement has definitely tried to play more football of late in a desperate attempt at changing our fortunes, but the little things just aren't going for us.

Mesa has made a huge difference but he's been involved in another goal against us, he is way down on his luck, the pen was soft and a criminal time to give away.

And I can't remember the last time I even saw a rebounded penalty scored, we've got to protect our goal better than that but again, I think it deflected in.

The space Rooney had was alarming for Siggy's goal. He picked the ball up with about 20 yards radius all around him and could pick out his pass. The third was outside the box absolutely no question about it.

Narsingh isn't the answer but just look how much of a different attacking threat we were in the first half with pace on either wing. Their full backs were too afraid to commit and we enjoyed a real decent period here.

But we have the softest underbelly currently, again another massive worry. If you score first in the EPL 89% of the time you don't lose. That stat seems way off when we go 1 up and losing Bony left me with a horrible feeling. If he played tonight we would have won I think.

Regardless of whether it's Clement or someone else, the words of Angel Rangel should be ringing in the hierarchy's ears, we've lost our way and the old guard players know this.

Play the facking game of football Clement, play the ball on the floor, have some balls, change your training drills to accommodate close control and triangles, pass and facking move. Get Fabianski in on it and ask him to show some courage and look to pass instead of hoof, get us back to what's worked AND GET SOME PACE AND WIDE MEN.

Darren only watches the Swans because I do, by the way. Without me he'd have nothing, well even less than he's got now.

lol my arse.

Anyone with a f*cking brain cell could have predicted how our "recruitment" team would have spaffed away the Sigurdsson money. The deal was excellent in a vacuum but, of course, most of us are on planet earth and not in outer space.

Always was an absurd narrative that he's a one trick pony or can't play in a free-flowing side, concocted by dribbing agenda-driven idiots. In an "average" performance where he didn't do much, he still buried us with a moment of quality that not a single one of our players is remotely capable of.

Tom Carroll this evening had the ball in excellent attacking positions on at least 3 occasions. A good attacking midfielder would have attempted to push forward, maybe beat a man, then have a strike on goal.
You could tell that he just didn’t have the ability or confidence to do it.. very poor performance from him this evening, the main problem is we’ve got no one else.

Mesa is a total and utter liability, he was committing fouls for no reason, at one stage it was a concern if he would get himself sent off, then he gave a needless penalty away right on halftime, if the Swans had gone in 1-0 up at the break Swansea might have won, where was Mesa for Gylfi's goal ?, the was a huge hole in centre midfield in the build up to the goal, he supposed to shield the back four particular the central defenders, the ball made its way to Gylfi out wide who then cut infield, but yet again where was Mesa ?
Mesa has no ability, he does not create goals or score goals, if he is giving penalties away and not shielding the defence then he is a liability and should not be in the team.

Looking on the other side of that, our players should have known what to expect off him, but let him cut across the box, not only that they stood off him, quality strike or not, that's my opinion anyway, another point though is that our players weren't good enough to close him down or stop him.
