We've got to start looking for the second goal to put teams away. I know we tried more tonight than against Everton but I always felt we needed two to get the three points.

Fed up with conceding goals so late in the game. Happens to us more than us getting one. In fact when we go one down the last few minutes we are often on our heels.

But yes, some good signs tonight especially AP and as long as we don't drop our heads (a bit like me tonight I admit) we'll be fine.

Table makes for pretty nervous reading after that one . Bournemouth result wasn't what we needed.

Where we could have been 14th and 7 points clear, we're 16th and could be 3 points clear if Newcastle turn over Everton tomorrow.

Deserved more. What an effort by the players. Typical Pulis team. Long ball and always back chatting to the refeeree. Fletcher is a disgrace.

I was about to post that as well. Here's hoping Newcastle lose.

I think it would take a very skilled poster to argue we deserved more than a point from that game.

That goal let me down for £450, but the one thing that has stopped me going mental is that we were on for a smash and grab before that WBA goal went in. A draw is a fair result anda decent point with 14 games still to play. If we were in the final 5 games, with Leicester away, Liverpool away and Man City away still to come, i'd be fuming. But we should only see this result as another game unbeaten with a lot of positive steps. Especially Alberto putting in a performance that hopefully resigns Gomis to a fate where he never steps foot on the Liberty pitch ever again.

If we put in that performance every game from the start of the season we would be pushing for Europe in this poor league.

Also, credit to Routs. I always have and will prefer Montero. But Wayne did a job today.

Reading Planet Swans and the Baggies forums before kickoff, the betting would have gone for the draw. Some optimistic people backing their own side to win 4-0, plenty going for 1-0 or 0-1 but most willing to scrape a point. We were the much more upbeat forum, the Baggies are very unhappy with Pulis. We didn't scrape a point, we were unlucky not to take all 3, and PHUCK Lawro and his predictions, he takes NIL POINTS from us tonight ha ha and we join in the BIG mix in mid table .... all eyes to Goodison Park tomorrow night, come on you Toffees.

Indeed doable - and I'd expect us to achieve it.

Missed opportunity tonight in my mind. Some better composure in possession and better finishing and we could have been comfortable.

We need to regain confidence in our abilities when closing out games - that equaliser tonight could have easily also happened in the previous 2 matches (Deaney, Coleman).

Some work to do, but we're giving ourselves a chance.

Nah, much like a boxer who is only busy for the last 30 seconds of a round to pinch it on the cards, West Brom did fck all in the first half and were wide open in the second. We blew it by shutting up shop too early imo.

When you say they didn't do much, presumably you mean scoring goals because they had a whole lot more chances than us but didn't take them.

Curt needs to whisper in Francos ear,it is said Franco likes to build from the back and close out games maybe he needs to trust a little more in defending from the front foot.
Any how's another point in the bag......disappointing it's not 3 but 3 games unbeaten and looking like our old selves in attack

No, Easternjack has it right. To shut out a game we have to play further forward and not give the chances away. We are woeful in the last 10 minutes defending set pieces and have ridden our luck just as much as fallen foul of it. Last week we rode it, this week we came a cropper.

Have a look at the stats. Similar amount of shots, albeit they had a couple more on target. Most of those were in the last 20. Game should have been over before then.

When the second goal didnt come we sat in. It worked last week, it didnt this week. Swings and roundabouts.

Totally agree. We also need to improve on reacting to the second ball. Too many times we were caught out. Especially in the first half.

That's the trouble with sitting back. Asking a lot to defend 1 goal leads all the time. Still, a points not bad but it feels like a loss.

How ugly are Brom? Pulis has definitely made his mark there. Horrible team.

I was hoping Amat was replacing Fernandez but wasn't surprised to see Ayew going off. As a result we didn't keep hold of the ball well enough and even though I didn't see a goal coming from West Brom with all of those big f*ckers on there I knew we'd be vulnerable at the set piece.

Absolutely devastated but still a fabulous point . Positives first - Ki was superb out there tonight, I hope he's OK, Routledge excellent and our play at times was sublime. Paloschi had a brilliant debut and if he hadn't been so unlucky hitting the post we'd have had all 3 points no question. For someone who supposedly couldn't hold the ball up he gave a masterclass out the, holding up well and offloading with some superb touches. Great intelligent runs and he worked his nuts off. At first impressions 8 million well spent.

Negatives - Ki's injury, being a bit wasteful in front of goal , sitting back and conceding an injury time sickener.

All in all though a really good performance playing the football we used to know and love pre monk

We were achieving that under Garry. Saw something the other day that said no club had ever been relegated from our current position at this stage of the season. That doesn't mean we won't, but it's looking increasingly unlikely. The only note of caution is that our upturn in form coincides with playing the poorer teams (although I'd not have bet on 3 points away at Goodison). We've still got some big teams to play which make the lost 2 pts tonight even more galling.

Agreed. Even at home to Watford the lack of a second goal led to a very nervous last 20 min.Same at Everton and tonight. We need to be a bit more streetwise. Never mind another point and we're starting to look like a half descent team again. COYS !!

Thought WR15 had one of his best games for a long time. 4 points from 2 away games we would have taken that a week ago and we hit the post just before they scored, bring bring on Palace. YJBs

Shame we left the Fer signing until the last minute - his physical presence would have been useful against those lumps tonight.
