possible starting 11 next year 00:20 - May 17 with 6429 views | lave16 | GK McCarthy (I think Green will leave) RB ? Furlong (We need someone with experience here also) CB ? need a new one -Onhua (Liability) CB ? need a new one -Caulker(hopefully someone will buy him ) LB Yun (not as good as I thought he was, switches off defensively) MR Phillips (matt hopefully he stays not swp) MC ? MC ? ML ? AM Fer (if he stays) CF Austin (Said he had a contract I would keep him 20 goals hard to find) Basically I would keep McCarthy, Fer, Phillips and Austin from today's team. Even if McCarthy did not inspire confidence at times today

possible starting 11 next year on 07:48 - May 17 with 6208 views | derbyhoop | It will be something like:- McCarthy; Furlong, Onouha, Caulker, Dunne, Ehmer, Yun Hoilett, Taraabt, Doughty, Traore, Petrasso, Comley, Mitchell Grego-Cox Basically - the ones we can't give away, the ones we don't really want to keep and a load of virtually untried youngsters. Green, Phillips, Fer, Austin, Sandro will be sold. All those out of contract, except Dunne and 1 of Barton/Henry together with the 4 loanees will be let go.

possible starting 11 next year on 09:09 - May 17 with 6069 views | WeaverQPR | A new defensive unit is needed maybe Ned and Caulks look hopeless, maybe a confidence thing or maybe there both just shat. Could we manage with Harriman and Furlong as RBs? Midfield keep Henry,Dougthy and Faurlin (risk),Hoilett year left (no takers), could we keep Matty and Fer? Need to buy at least 3 forwards

possible starting 11 next year on 10:42 - May 17 with 5957 views | TacticalR | Of the players who played today the three I would like to keep and think we have a realistic chance of keeping are: McCarthy, Yun, Phillips. If we could hang on to Fer or Austin then that would be great. Hopefully Furlong will become our right-back. We have a big problem in central defence. Dunne and Hill can't go on forever, and Onuoha and Caulker are looking like very poor replacements.

possible starting 11 next year on 10:52 - May 17 with 5931 views | MedwayR | I wouldn't be surprised if we kept the likes of Dunne & Zamora for another season, just to minimise the amount of signings required & give a young squad some experience. To avoid yet another huge squad overhaul maybe something like this: GK: McCarthy / Murphy RB: Furlong / Harriman CB: Onouha / Ehmer CB: Dunne / Hill / Donaldson LB: Yun / Robinson(inj) RM: Phillips / Petrasso CM: Henry / ? / Comley CM: Faurlin / Doughty / Sutherland LM: ? / Manning CF: Austin / ? / Grego-Cox CF: ? / Zamora

possible starting 11 next year on 10:55 - May 17 with 5911 views | ozexile | I think Henry will be vital next year. Need an experienced cm who can put a tackle in. Also need an experienced central defender who can go through the back of someone. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Zamora and Dunne are too old and used to high wages. We need to set a salary cap. Get rid.
possible starting 11 next year on 11:57 - May 17 with 5779 views | essextaxiboy | I would resign Barton if it was the catalyst to keep Austin for another year . Say what you like about him , you wont get someone who can drive the team on as he can for the same cost (fee + salary) . We are going to have a young side and need 2 or 3 experienced players. He can be a prat that is obvious , but yesterday, out of contract , in a relegated team , against a team threatened by relegation who he has played for and showed some affection for , he was professional and was chasing back to our defensive corner with 5 minutes to go . Chasing a contract , maybe but if he has an influence over Fer , Phillips and Austin and can protect the likes of Doughty , worth a new deal ..... IMO
possible starting 11 next year on 12:05 - May 17 with 5753 views | sdm1508 | I am not one of these people who goes on about sources etc but I have it on good authority that McCarthy would like to leave. Wants to play in the prem. He regrets the move as Liverpool were interested and with the season their keeper had he could have been number one there as he knew who would have to wait his chance with us but wasn't expecting Green to have the season he did. Guess it all depends if someone comes in for him

I hate to say it but I agree. He'll still want 30-40k a week though I reckon.

If you pay Barton 35K thats 1.8 mil a year . If you sign someone for a mil and pay them 15k thats the same outlay for as much as a gamble in performance as Barton is in temperament. He seems to get on with his team mates and may have an influence over some of them .

I did wonder this myself. Obviously wanted to make the step up from Reading but is now back in a potentially struggling championship team. I thought he looked shaky when he came on yesterday, made a couple of decent saves and came and caught a corner well. But looked terrible against Sheff utd cup game. I would be tempted to keep Green if we can and sell McCarthy, especially if he doesn't want to be here. Not sure what his price is though.

possible starting 11 next year on 13:07 - May 17 with 5599 views | carlh5266 | Charlie may be saying all the right things but he will be playing in the Premier League next season without doubt. He was signed in the Championship, after the mad spending spree so is on less wages than the silly earners. As the outstanding player why would he stay on less money? He may have been offered more money but he did not enter into contract negotiations. His advisors will tout him round to the best club for him as they should. Even if he did sign a new contract the wages he would no doubt deserve would put the club into the realms of yet more FFP non compliance next season. The incredibly thick TF is not that thick, is he?

Maybe he wants to leave, but expecting that Green wasn't going to be number one this season isn't credible unless there was a question of him leaving in Jan.
