Surely after watching that no-one will now call it rugby yawnion ?
Beating the Welsh in Cardiff, only topped by beating the Biffos on their patch in a few weeks.

Great comeback by Les Anglais 13-0 in second half.......and I don't like rugger!

I'm a self-confessed sport-ignoramus when it comes to anything but football. I have no idea about the rules of rugby but I love watching big matches like that.

Rugby is a boring sport which i have had the misfortune to see live once. Bored me to tears.

I know I'll upset a lot of folk, but watching the highlights on the news put me in the mindset that this game is some form of legal buggery, 25+ repressed homos having an orgy in some mud.

When God gave mankind the ball, he gave it us to kick it.

Poll: Who do you think bury should appoint as their next manager?

Or alternatively 2 teams giving 110% with no play acting(conning the ref) or feigning injuries for 80 mins.
You just need to watch the national anthems to see what it means to both sets of players, dissimilar to the over paid tools that couldn't care less as theres not enough money playing for the England football "team" is there?

Exactly. Pain is pain so when these guys can get hit full on, blood streaming from their nose and yet just get on with it, it just shows up the pathetic antics of premier league players clutching their faces at the slightest touch trying to con everyone. Have watched football much longer but have been a convert to rugby precisely for this reason - good hard fair contests

International RU is the only form of rugby that I can be bothered to watch. Even then I find it frustrating. It's never clear why the penalties are given. And the number of times the scrum collapses is ridiculous. I'd they could sort that our it would be more watchable.

I remember 2 years ago when England needed to beat Wales to win the grand slam, the ref gave a succession of penalties against England and you could see the players didn't have a clue what was going on. Wales ended up winning by 20 points.

Whilst it might not have some of the antics of the Premiership prima donnas, it does seem a great deal of RU is trying to force penalties out of the opposition, and was pretty much what the English RU success of 10 years or so ago was based upon. If a game is based around winning penalties, is that so widely different from what the diving divas do?

You are right up to a point in that both sports have tactics to win penalties e.g a fast winger running into a penalty box and is fouled to give a penalty.

The difference is that in football far more fouls and penalties are given when there was no contact i.e diving, or players holding their face etc when there was little or no contact. Cheating may creep into rugby ( e.g bloodgate) as the financial stakes get higher, but they are nowhere near as bad now

But as fans, I think most of us are quite ambivalent towards the England football team anyway.

It really irks me why this sort of thing always crops up every time there is a high profile rugby game on TV. It's always 'rugby players are so much better than...', 'football has got so much to learn from ...', and so on.

All that's missing is our Antipodean posters telling us how superior rugby is and posting something derogatory about England/English football and the bingo card will be complete.

We all watch Dale because we love football, in spite of its faults and the things that annoy us about the game, but to read some of the stuff on social media since last night, it's as though our sport is the work of the devil.

And in my opinion, Tazzy had it right!

For what it's worth, I had to sit through Angela's Ashes last night (lots of indoor faecal processing going on there) so this afternoon I'm going to watch the Wales v England contest on demand.

I'll bear in mind R17ALE's views though, especially if the packs come to blows.

Not too dissimilar. Lots of England's finest batsmen faecaling themselves, outdoors, in public.

If you're born in a stable it wouldn't make you a horse though, one thing they all are regardless of place of birth is proud as hell to represent their chosen country.

"I am against all forms of Rugby".
That should be printed on a Shirt. It'd fund Tazzy's awaydays for decades.
