I think it is fair to say that all the discussions around stadium expansion sponsors (rumoured to have been infinity) and shirt sponsors were always no more than rumours created rather than anything concrete
Which in time has led to the discussion around GWFX being seen to be the cheap sell out becoming a fact in many peoples eyes

Wasn't there a lot of disappointment when these were announced. Thinking back, I recall these were added due to a more beneficial sponsorship deal being dropped for whatever reason (which also delayed the release of the kit in store?). |
You're placing huge emphasis on something that wasn't based in fact. Samsung, Infiniti and Red Bull were rumoured but only as a 'wish list' on message boards. There was nothing to suggest that this GWFX deal was a back up plan. It's the same with most things on here - repeat it enough or get it endorsed by a 'respectable' poster and it will be regurgitated as fact. |  |

If I remember rightly spurs also entered into one year kit sponsorship deal for the season before last. I agree with you it may look unprofessional but this stuff does happen at this level. |  | | |

The difference between a Premier league sponsorship deal and a Championship one I would imagine would be quite large
If I was looking to sponsor I would not necessarily jump onto a two year deal with a side who will always potentially be in with a chance of dropping a division second year around.
I am not sure that I can admit that they served to make the rumours credible they only become credible to people who want to believe them surely? | | | |

Well in terms of credible - I should say posters on here. Many aren't credible, but admittedly there were who passed off as credible at the time.
Reading the forum from my mobile and your previous post did not appear in its entirety (regarding the early termination of the 32Red sponsorship). i accept you will undoubtedly know a lot more than most here and relent to your knowledge on this one - but I appreciate the response Phil.
