So Sorry Dragan and Sport Republic
at 19:07 7 Oct 2024

Le tiss’ personal views are completely f*cking insane but they are his views and he’s entitled to them.

He is also one of, if not the, greatest player our club has ever produced. He was also loyal when he had absolutely no need to be.

Assuming his involvement is about football and nothing else then I doesn’t make a difference what he believes privately.

Did Saturday's game buy Russell Martin time?

Personally i'd much rather have Moyes over Potter what we need right now is someone to stop us leaking goals and teach the players to stop being scared to get the ball into the box.

We are obviously the worst team in the league, but even then we should have a chance of staying up if we did the simple things well.

At the moment we're responsible for our own collapse, p*ssing around at the back which gives away goals, and over complicating attacks so we're too slow to counter.

I'm not saying we should be playing long ball into the box to a big man (though sometimes that wouldn't be the worst idea) but we do need to be quicker going forward and stop putting ourselves under pressure

True but he'd been actively sounding out new managers long before that, and the reality was Adkins was on borrowed time (even if many didn't know it)

I'd like to think SR are doing the same thing right now but i really struggle to believe they are.

I don't see a world where martin turns it around to be honest and my thinking is every game he's in charge is lost time.

As much as i hated the mad midget (both for over spending and his impact on personal friends) i'm sure he wouldn't have twiddled his thumbs on this one and Martin would've been booted already.

We need a bit more ruthlessness from the club, cut our losses and try and rescue the season

Those sorts of non compete clauses are pretty standard across industries at top levels. Interestingly the US sort of just banned them as being anti competitive

Because i've got more of a life than just football and will chat to them when i see them next down the pub, it's interesting to find stuff out but ultimately makes little to no difference to my life so i'm not exactly going to go chasing after it.

Would imagine potter has his eyes on a bigger job than us to be honest, you'd assume United and possibly West Ham will be up soon, possibly even Everton.

If i was him i'd not consider a side that's most likely going down if they're potentially available

I'd imagine the speculation comes from the same place that the stuff i'd heard prior to the bournemouth game of him having three games came from.

It's a weird one, you normally hear very little concrete about inbounds unless someone has been seen at the training ground or a meeting has been booked in, but outbounds are generally fairly reliable. I knew about Ralph a good month or so before it happened, board members leaving months before they were announced, and even the sale of the club (including what it was sold for) 3months or so before it was announced.

Football clubs are genuinely awful at keeping things quiet, and there's such a strong cross over of staff between clubs and press it's usually a fair guess if the press have run with it there's some truth in there.

No idea, but that decisions isn't down to me. I just don't think Martin is good enough and haven't since last season

Delusional? I'd love to know how

You do realise I know a ton of people in the club right?

Her shares were effectively diluted in the sale though weren't they? So whilst she "owned" 20% the club/company have since released more shares which has taken her down to 15% or thereabouts

Before Bournemouth I heard he had three games to save his job, not spoken to the people that know since though so it may have changed

Dumb question but can we even get rid of Ramus? I thought he was a large shareholder in the club and effectively part of the group that owns it.

So presumably the only way to "get rid of him" is to buy him out?

Honestly find this line of reasoning hilarious, of course the media know what's going on. Most of them have friends working at very senior levels of the majority of football clubs, and when people like me and mates know what's going on (and it's really not hard to find out) it shows that clubs are leakier than knickers of the front row of a magic mike show.

Yeah but inversely say we lose those there the season is practically over already.

I genuinely don't see Martin winning all three of those games, and would be surprised if he wins one from three.

He's really just not good enough and needs to be binned off now before it's too late

Actually i disagree, the issue with Ralph was we didn't sack him soon enough. He should've been gotten rid of in the close season and a manager given proper time to build his own side ahead of the season.

Instead we had a toxic and broken squad who were already on course to relegation when the new manager came in (admittedly that manager was beyond inept).

And that's exactly why i think we shouldn't be dithering with Martin now, we need him binned off already, it's clear he's not good enough and the longer we leave it the more impossible the task is, and the more we narrow our odds of getting anyone half decent.

SR really have cocked up so much about the club to be honest, and it worries me they haven't learned from previous mistakes and been more ruthless to get what they want.
